KBS 2014 tapping event threads (Mid-Atlantic)

Why the lulz?

 

CBS ran out there in 7-8 minutes. 10 oz. pours.

 

Was at Lost Dog Westover last night, they had tapped KBS on Monday, had plenty left last night, no one at the bar (other than me) had 3 pours, they advertise them as 8oz pours but it was closer to 10oz ($9). I would be shocked if they didn't have any left today. Also a good bottle selection in the retail shop. Hardywood Bourbon Grand Cru, Imperial Biscoti Break to name a few.

 

Not really very useful as I'm sure it's kicked by now, but was funny to me all the same.

Through a mixture of work/bike commitments and zero desire to line up outside somewhere like Top Hops an hour in advance of release time, I hadn't tried this year's KBS.

Was at a (very informal) wedding in Central Park on Saturday afternoon. Drinks were at a bar in Chelsea. A bunch of us needed a p*ss as we'd all had a couple of beers beforehand. A friend who lives in the UWS said we should use the bathroom at Dive Bar in the UWS, have a quick beer and then grab the 2/3 downtown. Walked in and they had a founders event including KBS - yeahhhh buddy! And the cool/weird thing was I was the only one ordering it*

*and despite the usual KBS vintage half-life phenomenon threads, it tasted as good as ever

 

KBS on tap will be featured at several locations during Philly Beer week upcoming.

 

I take it back - they just updated their beermenus page a couple of mins ago - if it's accurate, they still have KBS

 

I stopped by Dive Bar after work today. They still had some KBS, but the flavor was seriously disappointing--hardly any coffee or chocolate. Mostly just straight up alcohol. If I didn't know what it was supposed to taste like, I'd think it was vastly overrated.

I'm devastated! Just kidding. Appreciative of the tip, and only sorry my experience was not as good as yours.

 

I had it on draft Monday night and thought the same thing. I much prefer it from a bottle as opposed to from draft.

 

I've had it on tap a couple of times before, and when it's good, it's really something special. I tend to prefer it on tap, though bottled is great, too.

 

It's still on tap at BRGR in Cranberry Twp, PA.

 

There will be some KBS on hand for this event weekend. As part of the beer & cheese hike.

People still watching this thread? Enjoyed two drafts of KBS at the Railroad in Limerick last night. They also have BCBS and Everett on tap. Solid lineup as usual. Stop in, not sure how long it will last...

 

Had several 10oz pours of kbs as well as some backwoods and devil dancer at lionheart in albany(founders takeover)
