Hey Guys, I'm looking for some advice on what would be reasonable to offer up for a bottle of Westly. I currently have a bottle of West Ashley that I'd offer as the primary beer. What sorts of extras would I have to throw into the mix to get this done. Thanks in advance!
Using west Ashley as your main beer might be hard. One, because people who got westly more then likely have or also traded for west Ashley. Two, because it would probably take the equivalent of 3 or 4 west Ashley caliber beers to start a conversation. It would also help if you made a list of the stuff you have. I could start naming beers that you could add to west Ashley but that's pointless if you don't have those beers to trade. Hope this helps
Thanks, that does help. I wasn't sure exactly how high the Westly traded. I might have some stuff in the cellar that would be on that level, but I'm not looking to let them go. Cheers!
Here is what i have seen westly go for. 1:1 kbbs 1:1 framboos (i have actually seen a few people with westly turn this down a few times but it has gotten done) And i personally traded dbh + assassin for westly. It trades pretty high and i don't think any amount of west ashley would get it done because as @zookerman182 said they either have it or have access to it. Plus when the next batch comes out they will probably get it again from the source.
I traded a Le Roar Grrrz set for Westly +Stenciled Pages +VSP +Some Hill Farmstead Saisons and other Misc. bottles.
You can also do a simple search using Westy as the phrase and plug it into the Beer Trading Talk and Help forum. Here is what I found after a quick search: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/trading-values-russian-river-bcbs-westy-12.224131/
I sent off a Westly to a friend that wanted to try it, not knowing what would come back and I was pleasantly surprised when he sent back a BA Cake '14 set.
