All I know is that, if we drink with our eyes, this might be the tastiest doppelbock I've ever had... (Incidentally, it's pretty damn good on the palate too.)

Always been partial to Korbinian myself with Celebrator as a very very close 2nd (in fact when I have it on tap I tend to reconsider the whole 2nd place thing, especially if I've got some good German food to go with it. Thank you Haus Murphys for existing :grinning:)

Just found a local shop that happened to have the Andechs in stock, so I'll be able to cross that one off my list shortly!

I also happened across some Triple Digit Gravitator that was still available. Of the domestically-produced doppelbocks I've had that I can still actually get, that one is the closest to Korbinian / Celebrator grade I've found. That brewery works wonders with malt-focused beers.

Occidental Lucubrator Doppelbock is pretty tasty. Also, Mediator by Heater Allen.

I'm a big Dopplebock fan. As many have already said, Korbinian, Celebrator, and Andechs are some of my favorites as well. I just wanted to say that Shmaltz just released a beer called Bock Bock. It's a BBA Bock. It's pretty good. I always wondered why this style wasn't aged in barrels more often. It seems like a perfect style to age in many different types of barrels. I'd love to taste a rum barrel aged dopplebock.
