I'm going to be in DC next weekend. Family trip with the wife and one kid (13). Staying in Capitol Hill, mainly there to do all the touristy stuff, but obviously would like to try some great beers I usually can't get (I'm in NJ). Was hoping to hit the Aslin Beer Garden but it looks like that is only open on game days? And the Capitols will be in Philly next weekend (go figure). Can't drive to Aslin because we're taking the train in. My main question is...is there somewhere to get Aslin on draft? What about Veil? Those are the two big ones I know from the region. I am sure there are more. Lemme know...thanks!
You can probably get both Aslin and Veil beers at Churchkey. Also check out Ocelot beers--they make some very good IPAs, though more West Coast style.
Yeah I'm looking to hit Churchkey. How crazy does it get on weekends? Asking since we got a teenage kid with us...
Having two teenagers myself, mid to late afternoon usually works best. The tricky thing is that there will be World Cup crowds this weekend for the 2 p.m. game, so after 4 might be best.
