Had Shakey Orange today and quite liked it. Thought it was orange forward with the lactose element subdued

Question about the cans of Softcore Mutation.

I see the only listing on here is for Peach Softcore Mutation:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/37139/381998/

However, the can I just drank says: "A blend of one year aged Cherry and two year aged Peach foeder beers." The can itself calls the beer "Softcore Mutation Foeder Blend No. 001".

Is this the same beer? If so, is the beer mis-named, since it has cherry and peach? Do I think too much about beer? Please don't answer that last question, but I think the first two questions are valid.

Does anyone know if the barrel aged Cuppa Coconut Cinnamon and barrel aged Cuppa breakfast have lactose?

The reason I ask is... the barrel aged Cuppa stouts cans do not list lactose on the can as an adjunct, but the non- barrel aged Cuppa stouts list lactose as an adjunct.

I would assume that the Cuppa series stouts would use the same base beer. Or perhaps they did not use lactose because they were going to barrel age the beer. Just curious to know is all.

I didn’t realize any Cuppa had lactose. I don’t think I’ve seen any listing that says they do. Either way, I would assume the recipes for BA and non-BA are the same. When they brewed Coconut awhile ago, they said they put half the batch in barrels. Although they did not mention the cinnamon until they released the cans, so they obviously tweaked it at some point. So what do I know.

I can confirm that Cuppa hazelnut and Cuppa Brulé I have lactose listed as an ingredient on the can with the other adjuncts.

I only had Hazelnut cans, and didn’t have any left to check. I’m not surprised, as it’s a sweet stout. It’s odd though that none of the online listings I saw note lactose.

The carbonation on the Mr. Shakey Orange cans I purchased is almost non-existent. There's no "hiss" when I pop open a can, and the beer is very flat. I've gone through 5 cans, and it's an issue with all of them, so far. I'm just wondering if anybody else has come across this.

To be fair, if I'd bought a soda with a name alluding to "shaking" and it either exploded or had no carbonation when opening I would have an "Oh, yeah" moment.

Same just opened my first one, very minimal carb. Not very well balanced. Loved Strawberry Shakey but orange just isn't on par. Was hoping for more orange dreamsicle like More Orange Cream Marbles.

can also confirm that it's completely undercarbed.

however, i'll go a few steps further and declare mr. shakey orange to be one of the worst beers i've tried in a long time, and certainly the worst from maplewood, ever.

cloyingly sweet with no discernible flavor whatsoever besides artificial orange powder.

Agreed that it wasn't good. For reference: I liked the Strawberry & Blueberry versions, which are the only others I've had. Orange was a complete misfire.

    Sorry Roger!

I actually think the beer is delicious, it's just insanely flat in the cans. It was damn near perfect for me on draft at the release, I just wish the cans mimicked what was on tap.

Funny that yours wasn't very carbed. Mine was super carbed. It tasted like an orange soda and had the same mouthfeel too, from the carbonation.

I actually didn't finish mine and dumped out the last couple ounces as I was getting in bed and the splash in the sink even had the fizz sound of dumping out a pop.
