I'm looking for advice on milk stouts that do not have coffee notes.

3 Floyds Moloko - One of my favorites. Just coming back into "season" also.

Mikkeller - Milk Stout. Samuel Smiths Organic Chocolate stout. Beechwood brewing - Udder Love. Legacy - Milk Stout. Belching Beaver- Peanut butter milk stout.....Although mikkeller & Samuel Smiths will probably be the easiest to find of the list. Others are local to Socal and don't distribute much outside of the area.

It's a love/hate thing for many BAs but you'll have a hard time tasting anything other than vanilla for a good long while after trying Southern Tier's Creme Brulee. I think it's freakin delicious.

Yup, definitely snag a Belching Beaver Milk Stout/PB Milk Stout while you're there. Really dig those two.

Lugene and Left Hand (Nitro) Milk Stout are good calls for sure. Maybe Bell's Double Cream. Or Terrapin's Moo Hoo.

I don't care for the regular milk stout from Belching beaver. I feel that it does have too much of a coffee flavor, but PB Milk stout is awesome!

Had the Creme Brulee from Emelisse, very creamy and not nearly as sweet as the one from Southern Tier

Second that. Solid stout, certainly worth the couple bucks I paid as part of a mix-a-six.

Left Hand gets so much hype on this site. It is very good, but I think it's more because of how widely available it is - it's usually people's gateway to the style. These are just as good, if not better:
    Duck Rabbit Milk Stout
    Bells Special Double Cream
    Perennial Fantastic Voyage
    Sam Adams Cream Stout
Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout (I know, not a milk stout, but similar flavors and body)

Untappd has me at 45 "Left Hand NITRO Milk Stout" check-ins....so you can go ahead and guess what I might be hinting at trying. But make sure it's the NITRO, not the regular milk stout they make with the cow on the front...they're miles apart in taste and texture if you ask me.

Lancaster Brewing in central PA has a tasty milk stout, but not sure what their distro is like.

I've had issues with MooHoo, because every time I see it on shelves here, its really old. I was seeing 2012 MooHoo on shelves at a local shop through Feb of this year...2013 just showed up about a month ago...
