MPLS Black Friday/BCBS

So has the line started already to get that OG Rare?

Better weather than the black friday SLL release.

 

I just picked up 5 more regulars last night in Rochester. $9.99 each. They still had around 4 cases left. Bringing these up to Minneapolis for a buddy who missed out.

 

I had that positive story to report earlier in this thread. Now a negative one...

I spoke to a long-time client of mine today, who told me that the owner of their company (which has nothing to do with beer or alcohol products whatsoever), chased trucks to purchase BCBS, just to sell them on the Internet (eBay) at $40 a pop. They got 2 cases or more.

Said owner is not at all interested in craft beer, in fact, they tried one, totally hated it (likely used to Budweiser), drain-poured it, and was mad that by trying it, it cost them a $40 sale.

I don't see getting BCBS getting any easier in 2016...

 

Yes kind of discouraging when you are competing with BMC drinking dudes.
With all the Bourbon County available this year you wouldn't think he would be getting to many takers at 40 a pop.

 

Assuming none of this is still hanging around?

 

I haven't been to all of the stores around town but the 3-4 that I frequent sold their remaining bottles last week.

 

There's an article in the Chicago Tribune about how Goose Island is offering refunds for several of its 2015 beers because of weird taste profiles. It names Coffee and BW, but the article is otherwise vague. Interesting stuff.

Anyone else experiencing bad beer?

 

opened two coffees recently, both off tasting. one gushed out of the bottle. had a barleywine as well, but that seemed fine.

The Coffee I had was infected, but the BW I had with a friend wasn't. That same friend did have another BW and had to drain pour.

 

Coffee has been fine, although the coffee was on the bitter side , while the BW ive had has had a sweet cherry taste with very little BA.

 

That's been my experience with coffee as well. OK, but weirdly astringent on the finish.

 

Drank a BW last night, no barrel presence and candied tart cherry/raspberry. Drank a coffee this morning and it was amazing

 

what was the timestamp on the coffee?

 

Opened Two coffees tonight and both off. Both have a tart green apple finish though one was noticeably better than the other.

 

So far I've had one really bad coffee and two ok ones, and two really bad BW's and one great one.

 

Been lucky, opened two coffees and they were great. Have yet to try a BW...

 

Just a tip, coffee on tap is a whole different beer. Don't pass that up if you get a chance.
