This is wonderful news! Cheers to the Bros for doing this. I hope it's soon because I really miss the old system too. =)

Honestly, I don't think I'm totally stupid, but, damn, I can't even figure out how to move the pics onto email, on my phone. I'll just stick with smoke signals.:slight_frown:

Fudging the rules just a touch here. I had this a couple weeks ago, but had been drinking, and well.... Let's just pretend I've never had it (especially since I'm on-line at the brewery). Wander, like most (if not all) breweries has contracts for the majority of the hops they use. They also occasionally buy hops on the "spot market". Brewers tend to pay more for these hops, because they're buying what's available, and there might be bidding on a given batch. Anywhoo, here's #2 in Wanders "On The Spot" series of IPAs: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/34416/136531/

Dear Fanciers of Faros and Lager Lovers,

Thank God I've finally gotten here. Surprisingly bust Sunday for me but I am alone at last after reaching the beloved 0 in box, 0 catbox and 0 laundry hamper. Y'all just don't know how tickled I am to be at leisure with my phone unplugged!
This moment of joyous freedom brought to me by Southern Tier's Warlock. I'd put more exclamation marks in but more than one per post is a sign of an unhinged mind or a teenage girl*. This sweet darling stout reminds me more of my Memaw's pecan pie than anything remotely pumpkin related. Blackstrap molasses, banana nut bread and pecan shells is most of what I am tasting. Now if someone can do a black and tan with this and Pumking I will be so happy.

*As someone who has been tutoring a teenage girl in Algebra and History for two years I can promise you these things are so close to synonymous as it makes no odds.

Howdy NBS folks! Hope everyone is enjoying their foray into new beer adventures.

Opened this bad boy compliments of @jzeilinger. Poured a hazy gold with rapidly diminishing head. Very little noticeable carbonation is present.

Aroma is a heap of malt sweetness with a little tropical dankness in the background.

Flavor is a ton of malt sweetness followed by mouth puckering hop bitterness. Notes of mango, with a little pine, and a very dry finish.

When I noticed the triple IPA on the label, Devil Dancer came to mind. There are some similarities in flavor, but this one really hides the 11.5 abv really well. I didn't experience any alcohol burn at all. I'm sure I'll feel it later!

As a hop head, I love trying these triple hop bombs, unfortunately they're just fun novelties that fall a little short. I can't imagine trying to balance the massive amount of ingredients going in to something of this caliber. A very good 3.75 rating from me.

New Better Late Than Never Coffee Stout Sunday

Had to take in some more pigskin action today. As much as I don't want baseball weather to go away, I am thrilled to have football back. Even if it was almost unwatchable last night. Bad Sunday to be a Buckeye. Luckily my other Ohio team went out and partially redeemed my weekend this afternoon. Our Monday Night Football rotation starts at my house tomorrow. Picked up these for the occasion. Pretty excited to try these. Only had the pale. Looks like one of the best variety packs I have had outside of Great Lakes.

On to the stout. Received this one as an extra. Comes out of Cleveland Heights. Enjoying it on the deck while I can. Nights are starting to get cool though. Have to move this party to the fire pit soon.

Pitch black, very little head. Aroma is in your face roasted coffee. Taste follows. For a beer, I think it is about as close as it can be to a straight up cup of coffee. Very nice beans though. Real smooth flavor with not much bitterness. Kind of overwhelms the taste buds after a few drinks though. Some malt and faint chocolate as it warms. Middle of the road on the body. Well done, but a little too much for me. If you like your coffee black, this one's for you. 3.6. Enjoy your evening.

Beautiful brew. Excellent fruity yeasty esters. Banana and pear highlights along with a nice balancing act of nutty, bready, honey sweet malts and clove spice. Fruity, crisp, and refreshing. Ends with a nice flavorful drying finish. Truly an epic beer! 4.5/5

Now time for some more Tired Hands, I don't think Tired Hands can brew a bad beer. Drinking Orange Fuzz right now, melon is really big in this.

32 oz growler, filled 9/7, poured into a teku

A- A slightly hazy orange with a two finger white head. 4.25

S- Cantaloupe, hints of wet grass, some bubblegum, some earthy undertones. 4.25

T- Cantaloupe, hint of dank hops, some pine, fruity, just enough sweetness from the malts and honey, very balanced. 4.5

M- Smooth, slightly creamy, medium body. 4.25

O- Fruit comes out very nicely with this beer. I wish I had picked up at 64 oz growler. 4.4
    Final Score 4.39
I am actually happy it I have to drive 45+ minutes to get to Tired Hands, otherwise I would probably be broke!

This was a 2013. It wasn't amazing, but - having only had it this one time - I thought it was pretty good. I'll take Abacus or BCBBW over it any day, though.

    I'm doing a two-fer today. Here's what I'm drinking right now-
    [IMG]
Big Muddy Brewing 17 St. Smoked Amber Ale

Mild nose, hints of smoke and dried flowers. The palate is just not working for me at all- overly dry, astringent and medicinal, with a toasty caramel finish not unlike an altbier, pretty disjointed overall. Mid-way through and not much is improving- maybe it's an old/mishandled bottle?. Sorry folks, I'm not sure I will even finish the rest; no enjoyment to be had here. :slight_frown:

New Wild Wine Barrel Aged Beer Sunday!

Today was a good day! I worked so hard in this calm Autumn Day. Went to Max's met up with two BAs there...

@gillagorilla and @northstar23 thanks for sharing your brews, Brothers! Now I'm at home drinking a new Brew. I wanted to pop this with said BAs, but I could only stay for an hour. This is the current brew.

This brew poured gorgeous blood red with a nice golden amber hues. For the aroma is pretty intense. First waves of soft cherries then straight funk! It's cheesy with hints of oak. Less vinegar than it's brother beer I had last night. Well, smells entertaining, now for the kill! The taste is pure pitted wild cherries with some peppery spice. Hits of some oak, funk and harsh acidity. Finishes semi dry, salinity, semi-sweet and refreshing. Lingering rotten wild cherries in the aftertaste. The feel on this brew is medium-light poppy harsh carbonation.

Overall: This brew is tart, acidic, with some vinegar. This beer is pretty good. It's refreshing and not extremely puckering sour. Yet enjoyable. These guys make some good sour brews, not going to lie. It's not the best Kriek I've had but damn fine one for an American brewer's attempt. This brew is worthy.

    Cheers my fellow NBSers!

Still found time to make it today (well tonight) and keep my streak of NBS running.

My new beer is New Glarus Iced Barely Wine that was bottled back in Feb 2009. It is still boozy, but there is dark fruit, tofee, caramel, and maybe some cola flavors. It's good and seems to have held up well, but I've had better BWs This is my 34th beer from New Glarus. Cheers!

I still have one of those in the cellar. Pretty good fresh, about the same last year. How long would you say I should wait for the last one?

I would imagine it peaked either last year of this year. I don't see it doing much more with age.

Decided to crack a very special beer tonight in celebration of a few recent positive happenings in the family.

Served into a Cigar City snifter. Pours like oil - thick, viscous and a black so dark it seems it would absorb light. Barely any head was formed, the little head was dark brown in color and receded into a ring that stays in the glass as you enjoy the beer. Nose is that of spices - cinnamon, ancho chile with the spice closely followed by Mexican hot chocolate.
Taste is similar to the nose, identical I would say, and the base "Huna" beer clearly shows itself. The finish is warm and boozy but in a nice way. Mouthfeel is fantastic - it comes as close to "chewy" as any beer would come. Overall this is phenomenal beer that i'm lucky I got to try. Apologies for the quick review but i'm watching football and a baby!
    Cheers!

    Edit:
To round it up - I will give this a perfect 5.
Yep - i'm not shy about giving 5's and this is one of 'em

    New American Wild Ale

Having a great weekend in West MI.

Going back to work meant getting everything around the house done today. Mowed the lawn, cleaned the fish tank, and helped out my better half in her classroom. All that hard work paid off with a pumpkin pie flurry before dinner.

Now I'm relaxing with a fine beer from New Glarus. Another awesome interpretation of the style. A good mix of tart fruit and oak characteristics that mixes well with some sweeter aspects. Very happy to have acquired this one via trade with @zeledonia. A ton of flavor for a low ABV.

Had the opportunity to catch these guys last night. It's been years since my last show, and they're still rockin' it.
