Good Morning NBS & congratulations to @lordofthewiens on the big news!
I wandered around the bottle shop Friday not finding anything I thought I wanted. Then I saw a dry-hopped, rye saison and decided I like everything about that and purchased.
    The review:
16oz canned 4/5/18 (24 days ago) poured into a willibecher glass at fridge temp, no ABV listed on can. The beer pours hefe-hazy in a light orange amber color. The head is off white and recedes to a cap. The aroma is mild and predominantly clovey saison yeast. The taste is a semisweet, tangy wheat/rye malt start with a little fruit mid palate and a dry clove & pepper finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, adequately carbonated and dry in the finish. Overall, good. Very nice saison. Neither the rye content or dry hop are over the top and the beer in the glass remains to style.
Enjoy the new beer in your glass today BA!

That one has definitely been on the list to revisit. If I run across it, I would buy two 4-packs I assume (it was in a bomber when @richj1970 set it to me years ago).

If you are not aware, you can suggest an update on the beer's page. I usually try to give a link to the brewery's website with the style for "verification purposes," but explain where I got the information (i.e. from the can) if I cannot find a good source.

Congrats on the NM purchase! I would be very happy on a patch of scrub near Santa Fe.

Evil Twin's Ceci n'est pasa NE Style IPA is a DIPA and double dry-hopped. This hazy yellow-orange can pour is capped by 1 cm of fluff. The aroma is light and citrus-y. The flavor is tangerine juice and a bit of mango with some malt presence, but a medium hop bitterness dominates. This is pretty good, but I'm going to have to research my Evil Twin purchases a bit more.

S - sweet rum, chocolate, some tropical notes, a little booze.

T - the rummy sweetness hits you first, but wow there’s a lot going on here. Chocolate, molasses, caramel, vanilla, dark fruits, leather, tobacco, roast. Medium-low bitterness, moderate sweetness, moderate booziness.

    F - medium-full body with medium-low carb.

O - Every time I sip this I notice something different. Very impressive.

Congrats on the move to New Mexico lordofthewiens. I'm not sure if the New Mexico beer scene can compare to the New England beer scene but I can empathize with your reasoning to to move to a warmer climate.

As most of you know, Clown Shoes of Massachusetts was bought out by Harpoon of Massachusetts/Vermont. It could have been worse I suppose. So here we have the first Clown Shoes can, that I have purchased anyway, that says brewed and canned in Boston, Massachusetts and Windsor, Vermont. It is the Bubble Farm IPA and it is 6.5% ABV. Just released earlier this year so it is new for New Beer Sunday. Light amber heady pour. Average clarity. Muted pine and herbal hop aroma. I get more sweet grains on the nose. Smooth, medium body. The pine and herbal bitterness is bigger in the taste than in the aroma.

    Cheers all.

L- The beer pours black with a one finger mocha head. The head recedes to a thin ring with a large central island. Lacing appears as legs that slowly slide back into the beer.
S-The nose is strong with fruit from the brandy and there is an alcohol edge at the end. The malt gives impressions of chocolate and weak coffee, but struggles to rise above the brandy notes.
T- The first flavor to drop on the palate is the dark fruit of the brandy barrel. This doesn't linger here as long as it did in the nose. It soon overtaken by rich chocolate somewhere between the milk and dark spectrums. The beer ends with a bit of char and a pleasant warming, lingering alcohol burn. This is very nice.
F- Mouthfeel is on the high side of medium with a smooth, near slick lingering finish. Carbonation is low and accentuates the mouthfeel.
O- An excellent barrel aged stout. My first brandy barrel aged beer and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Its a perfect sipper for a cold damp day with it's slick warm finish. Complex and interesting in its flavor profile, I highly recommend it.

Greetings,.fellow NBSers,.and thanks to. @lordofthewiens for getting us going this a.m. Congratulations on the new house and new adventure (and good luck with the packing)!

Weather has been quite variable this last week. Tuesday was the first day it hit 70° in 209 tries. By Friday it was over 80°, but by yesterday it was back in the 40s and pouring rain. Right now it's 52 and mostly cloudy.

During the week I hit a couple of beers from @beerloserLI's box of mostly hoppy beers.

    Both were excellent.

I'll probably grab another such beer later today, but there's a good chance something local will also be eliminated from my deeply crowded fridge.

    on to another new beer!

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Turbid and murky dull yellow and brown, opaque but not totally frozen in appearance. Creamy and easy forming three finger white head with a small top, a bit of ring and pill like lacing matches up on top.

Aroma is a bit unexpected. Minimal hop presence, and more of a toasted walnut smell coming off the beer. Touches of faint chocolate, but more of a roasty nut than anything. Very odd.

Palate while passable and good is a bit quizical. Tannic to very dry husky chocolate sensations, mixing with a small bit of orange. Creamy sensing citrus with large amounts of juicy qualities and mellow hop. Soft bodied, with chewy classic quality, and some lingering sweetness comes out after some time to bring some more milky chocolate flavors.

Not bad, but the addition of chocolate just doesn't seem like a good one and doesn't seem to be thought through. I love the combination of chocolate and orange, but this doesn't even taste so much or work in this brew, and just seems very random

Singlecut thinking hard about the weather porter
    ..solid black color
...just below medium body with medium carbonation. A little high on the carbonation but it still had a decent feel
..aroma is bitter cocoa, milk chocolate, and roasted malt
...taste was very similar to aroma, not sweet at all,dry with a very dry finish.
...overall it was pretty good, usually I would associate milk chocolate with being sweet but it somehow was dry and it made for an unusual unique taste[IMG]

Pitch black and a fairly brief volcanic on a forced pour mocha colored head that produces legs more so than lacing. Nose is either caramelly chocolate or carob, with bourbon acting like vanilla (or vice versa?) coming in hot. Taste certainly has that chocolate close to the surface while any vanilla id hiding in some fairly straight forward coffee flavor. Heat on the finish is totally bourbon inspired with a mostly coffee aftertaste

New beer #4. Another newbie from a local Philly brewery. Unlike Crime and Punishment, though, I don’t feel like the quality of their beers justifies the premium pricing ($6 a can).

L - 1-finger offwhite head atop a translucent yellow body.

S - citrus, pine. A classic ipa nose. Nothing really stands out.

T - dank. Some citrus but it hides behind the bud. Cheesy and piny middle. Low bitterness. Low sweetness. Low booziness.

F - velvet body. Medium-full with low carb.

O - If you love the dank you will love this. I personally find this one-dimensional and out of balance.

Good afternoon NBS and Wow @lordofthewiens that is the way to start this venerable weekly event. Congratulations on the move. I like the theme of stepping out of our comfort zone. As the owner of a small 2nd generation electrical contracting firm every week seems to challenge the comfort zone, staff, payroll, customers, all can be a blessing or keep you up at night. This week is Annual Town Meeting here in our town, and I also am a Selectmen so for 6 months you work on budgets, and other Articles for the residents to vote on. That means public speaking also a challenge to the comfort zone.
Not challenging to this space is a wonderful APA from our dear friends at Brick and Feather brewing in Turners Falls. This offering is a double dry hopped version of the flagship beer. I really value the tension in this beer, a nod to the west coast with enough bitterness, while winking at the East coast with that tropical fruit and relatively soft water. An excellent beer and this batch had some of the first cans from this fine brewery

Poured from a recently purchased can production dated 4/19/18.
A - Slightly hazed deep straw color, Gentle carbonation meanders towards the surface. A quick to dissipate froth leaves lots of clinging evidence.
S - Green melon rine, lemongrass, some piney notes as well
T - Follows the nose quite well, add some semi sweet malts, to the mix of slightly bitter tropical fruits, a bit of green apple skins and lemon verbena. This acts well with the semi sweet malts.
M - This has some edges, in a good way. A tug of war between soft water and hop bitterness. The hops and malts are excellent balance. Finish is dry and lingers are fruity.
O - A piney, citrusy, semi sweet start and dry finish are wonderful. The package once opened filled the area with wonderful aromatics. I am glad to have this APA available and so close to home.
