New Beer Sunday (Week 726)

Haven’t had Bobo in a few years now. Blast from the past.

 

Last one for the night for me, a long time want that thankfully @RedhawkPoke sent my way.

This is my first AB beer and man I'm enjoying it!
Pours black as can be with a thin khaki head.
Smell is amazing! Green apple, barrel, dark fruit, caramel.
Taste is quite nice too! The green apple leads the way, charred oak, raisin, caramel, dark roasted malts. A bit sweet on the finish.
Nice slick almost syrupy feel. Very smooth, low alcohol presence.
Overall a fantastic beer that I was thankful to have tried.

Later than I prefer, but here we go with Mystery Beer #1 @akatz821 's Hint: Candles

Well it pours a turbid, hazy straw to pineapple juice in color. Frothy white head asserts itself 2 fingers high, then retreats within a minute or so to a scattered patchwork. Some sticky clusters of lacing keep the glass company.
Smell is initially tropical, pineapple, guava, mango at first.
Flavor follows suit. Somewhat "juicy." But then grapefruit pith and hints of onion come through. The onion is mild, so still good.
Mouthfeel is a bit fluffy and yet a hint of gritty. Also, as it warms a bit, there's a little warming that seems to come more from the hops than from the ABV, it's a little bit oniony.

The barrel seems to have mellowed. I had AB Noir when it first came out in October and again a few weeks ago. The apple didn't dominate as much as it did 4 months ago .
