What a nice locale and journey. Have fun. Those great English ales are "tight" like a great piece of bread. Like out in the country in Great Britain, in Paris, or deep in Bosnia-Herzegovina! Drink one for me......

Dogfish Head Suddenly Comfy. Excellent stuff. Lasting fluffy head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart/tangy red/green apple juice, fruit peel, peach, pear, cinnamon, peppercorn, clove, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla, cream, honey, candi sugar, cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with light notes of herbal, floral, woody, grassy hops and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness; fruit tang/tartness; and cinnamon/allspice spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation/body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Creamy, silky, bready, grainy malts; some sticky hops/spice in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing bitter/tart/spicy dryness; no cloying/astringency. Refreshingly smooth/silky/soft finish. Minimal warming 8%. Perfectly balanced between apple juice, spices, and clean malt flavors; with restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Spot on stuff for an experimental style. Not overwhelming on any aspect. Would buy another 4 pack. They always do a great job on these. 4.08

    New from Four Quarters.
Hmm, floaties apparent upon initial pour.
    It's pretty tasty, though!

    16 oz. can.
Moderate to vigorous pour yields a one inch white head over a pinkish peach colored body with scant lacing. Nose of very, very slight blueberry and even slighter citrus. Taste of blueberries and cream with a slightly sour blueberry tart finish. Good feel and overall, I could see myself enjoying another one of these for the flavors. Cheers!!!

    Good evening NBS
Better late than never right. @lordofthewiens, I have went multiple rounds with the tax folks in Kentucky, where I worked for almost two years. They make you pay Indiana and Kentucky state taxes promising to pay you back, when you live in Indiana. They sent me denials and asked for more documents until I gave up. Over a year of back and forth. On to beer...

    The review of 3Floyds Moloko:
12oz bottled 8/27/19 (one month ago) poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp, no ABV listed on bottle. The beer pours dense black with no light penetration and abundant mocha colored head. The head recedes slowly to a cap and leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is mild with coffee, roasted malt and lactose. The taste is semisweet caramel, chocolate and coffee all mixed up with a fairly bitter finish. The mouthfeel is full bodied with just less than medium carbonation and a semi dry finish. No trace of the 8% ABV listed on the website. Nothing cloying or overly sweet. Overall, very good. A nice, flavorful take on the style.

    Cheers all. Maybe one more...

A nice example of a Festbier.

A moderate pour from a 16-oz. can (08/22/19) yields a finger of white creamy froth with average retention and sliding spots of lace. Gold-shiny copper color with a slight haze.

Hops greet the nose with white bread and wheat toast, some biscuit and Triscuit-like malt.

Sweet malty taste (semi-sweet at 1st) with toasted wheat and baked bread, subtle citrus and melon. The finish is neutral and mildly bitter as a baking-spice bite builds. The aftertaste has sweet spice (fennel and cardamom) with mild fruity and flowery hops lingering.

Medium light body, average+ carbonation. Smooth and clean with a mild wheat presents.
Light body, big malt taste, more of a Fest Bier than a Marzen...it's a little wheaty.

Founders Underground Mountain Brown. I should have reviewed this a long time ago. This was amazing. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge nutty medium roast coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, biscuit, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, raisin, fig, date, smoke, oak char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms. Mild herbal, grassy, roast, charred, coffee bitterness; and bourbon/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts; light slickness, sticky hops, chalky roast, and bourbon/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter/tannic dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringency. Dangerously smooth/soft. Mild increasing warmth of 11.9%, minimal lingering barrel booze. Perfectly balance between super rich malts, fruity/nutty coffee complexity, and bourbon barrel presence/integration; light earthy hops and fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. I had this on tap in 2012, I recalled it being one of the best beers I've ever had then, but palate adjustment is a thing. Right on par with KBS/CBS to my current opinions. Will stock up soon. 4.38

Did you happen to enter a review & do you agree with this being classified as an NEIPA? I bought one hopping for something more traditional as well. They are supposed to be releasing a Chinook version soon, but I will likely pass.

Beautiful straw yellow body; fine carbonation; thick, frothy, sculpted head, white and sticky. Bold floral aroma; smell; sweet and with some interesting esters; very soft malt element in the nose. Mild fruity flavor; gentle pear notes; very light grain pilsner malt quality; light, mild hop bitterness, nicely nuanced and balanced. Gentle, relatively light body; light and powdery; softly sweet with a modicum of dryness at the finish.

This beer brings some deft and subtle flavors and mouthfeel to the beer game. Wonderfully balanced with some tasty complexity and depth to please the palate and soul.

The second Sunday in a row for me with no 'Fortress of Solitude', no 'The Thomas Jefferson Hour'. Nope, stuck at work with practically no business. But I did get a few nice freshly grown tomatoes from the boss, and inspired by him (because that's what he was having for his supper), Mrs. Goot, Rocket the Wonder Dog (who greatly enjoyed the large frying pan full of bubbling bacon browning on the stove top), and I enjoyed some tasty BLTs...I can live with these simple pleasures...

Wow, beautiful pics. I didn't make it that far north in Scotland, but you mentioning there's plenty of cask offerings makes me want to remedy this pronto.

    The review:
12oz stamped CANNED 08/16/19 (about 6 weeks ago) poured into a shaker pint at fridge temp 6.5% ABV. The beer pours very dark brown with chocolate tan colored head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves a few spots of lacing. The aroma is dominated by coconut. The taste is semisweet chocolate which transitions to coconut quickly before a barely bitter finish. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, adequately carbonated and mostly dry in the finish. Overall, very good. Well crafted and the coconut, while dominant, is not artificial.

My fears were founded here. Turns out a beer named Death by Coconut is too coconut forward for a guy who doesn't like coconut. I recently enjoyed Coconut Merlin, so I thought I'd take a chance. Cheers all!

Good evening everyone. I hope you all are having a tasty Sunday!

No dating on the can

Pours light orange.. light head and semi-sticky lacing. Aroma is WTH? 1st whiff.. soapy, lemon. Subsequent aroma's are all over the place. Tropical, citrusy, lemon, earthy. Taste is pretty much married to stone fruit, with a lemon back taste. I got a couple of honey bursts here and there. Oily as well. Smooth, light light bitterness, medium MF. Very good tasting, and does change tastes during warm up.

This is a wild card beer. The flavors were quite varied, yet very good!

    Canned 09/19/19.
Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch tan head over a brown body with little lacing. Nose of nutty peanut butter cookie and roasted malts. Taste mirrors nose nicely with peanut butter near the finish and roasted malts and hops at the finish. Nice feel and overall, a tasty offering from the boys of Everett. Cheers!
