Yes, I've been there. It's absolutely horrible, one of the worse breweries I've been to. Off-flavors, beers not even close to style, etc.

I guess it helps when I click on the text. I was like what brewery? Haven’t heard anything about them. I wonder if they are located next door to a custom boat shop?

Nevermind about the custom boat shop. The place I was thinking about was not even in Aurora.

That place isn't too far from me. I haven't been and don't really plan to. A couple friends did and they described it as "ridiculous." I suppose you can interpret that any way you want.
Then again, I don't even go to Launch Pad and they actually put out decent beers these days. It takes a lot to get my ass to hit up a new brewery on the regular.

Drove by the old Lakewood location of Caution Brewing (Wadsworth), and there's a new brewery that looks like it's not far from debut (signage is up, lights are on, and lots of activity). Evidently the name wasn't very interesting, because hell if I can remember what it was — something with three numbers (maybe a zip code)? It was always an odd location if you ask me.

Bought a bottle (Harrison, IIRC) on a whim at Small Batch recently and it was absolutely the best cider I've had from a Colorado producer. Nothing comes close.

Just following up on this... it looks like there is a for lease sign up on the building now. Assuming that the deal they were working on to come in and take over fell through. Anyone have any updates?

Very interesting. I thought that was a pretty gutsy move. That's a neighborhood where even big chain restaurants fail. Many of the places that have thrived around DU straight up own their places.

Was talking with a friend last week who does restaurant real estate work. Denver's increasing property costs have a lot of people (brewers, restaurants, retailers, and even property developers) reconsidering things that were pretty firm deals even six months ago. The margins are getting real thin if you have to buy land or rent.

I talked to someone who used to work there the other day, and they said whatever the deal was with the new brewery, it fell through.

Yah, a biz owning its building is the way to go. Wish we did.
But, it's ridiculous right now in real estate. Out of state property owners are just milking it as long as they can. I foresee downtown Denver crumbling in on itself.

That's too bad. Selfishly hope they can find something similar to move into the space since I live so close to the building.

I'm just as curious about who it was originally going to be. Are they looking at spaces elsewhere or was this location key to their strategy?

Unique model to Denver....I was thinking it was going to be a CBD brewery

AH! That actually makes a lot of sense. Didn't even think about that.

Well, I see the mountains are still opening new spots; more places to check out during ski season for sure: Camber Brewing in Fraser has their soft opening on the 26th, Stein Brewing is open at The Hard Rock Cafe in Empire, and Granby has Never Summer. Hell, I can't keep with the mountain breweries now!
