New to this site. Looking to get involved in trading in MidWest/East Coast. I’m in PNW. Where do I begin?? Thanks all!

    Hi,

    Welcome!

    Start with this:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/trading-rules-tips.229/

    And this:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/how-to-get-started-with-trading.353318/

    And this:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/trading-feedback-system-explained.185895/

Then post something on the trade forums. Try to be specific with what you have and what you want. That should give you the best chance to close something. Start small to get your feet wet. Also don't be surprised if an experienced trader asks you to send your package first.

I would look over the trade forums for a while to get a sense of the kinds of things that people offer and look for. Sometimes new traders seem shocked to discover that you can't land the most sought-after stouts by trading local IPAs.

I would also figure out which of the breweries/beers that are accessible to you are most sought out by others. In your case, depending on exactly where you are, this would probably be Great Notion, Fremont, de Garde...I'm sure I'm missing some.

To add to this, I would actually post here or in the Trade Value Tuesday (TVT) thread with what you are looking to post. If you post in this, you’re looking obviously for constructive feedback on how you are posting and what you are going to say. If you post in the latter, people are more likely to advise you on whether your trade is reasonable, or what you need to change. If you post in the latter, I would advise indicating that you are brand new to trading, and people will give better (constructive) feedback than if you did not include that one tidbit.

Definitely start with locals like Fremont if you have access. Their distributed BA stuff is stellar and will trade. And as @Beer_Economicus stated, use the trade value thread e.g. will this ipa/stout trade for this other ipa/Stout. Good luck and cheers!

Holy Mountain and Great Notion probably trade the best in the PNW (and floodland but the majority of the bottles are membership only)
