I'd like to hear your thoughts on Nitro beers. Do you like the characteristics it yields or do you perhaps prefer the traditional brew of the same variety. What Nitro beers to you recommend?
I am generally fine with a nitro beer of any style. Yes, pales lose their hop bite to a degree, but you get a smoother beer. Darker styles benefit most, for sure, but nitro always adds an interesting element. Take nitro coffee or wine and you have created a completely different experience with different flavors taking the forefront!
OP, couple other threads on nitro which might be of interest to you as well. http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/to-nitro-or-not-to-nitro.375107/ http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/why-all-of-the-hate-for-nitro-beers.267274/
If you can, try a side by side of Rubaeus, normal vs. nitro. Mind bogglingly different. Nitro can be good but one beer that I hink really suffers from the nitro treatment is Old Rasputin. Most are really great though. Founders Nitro IPA is fantastic.
Traditional for almost every beer. Small number of exceptions for nitro. Rubaeus is a great example of something I prefer on Nitro. Hops, never no way ever though.
