I haven’t been trading or following North American beer releases outside of my local market for some years, but we are trying to do more regular tastings again and I’d like to find a few things to trade for to add to themed tasting line ups we have coming up. So I need some advice on good beers in these categories that I might seek out: -Stouts (preferably barrel aged) with hazelnuts or other nuts (NOT hazelnut-flavored coffee) -beers made with flowers or fresh herbs -winter themed or winter seasonal beers that aren’t specifically Christmasy -Halloween/horror themed beers (especially ones that aren’t stouts or Fantôme)
Oh man. Well ,look these breweries up: Bottle Logic, Fremont, Firestone Walker, Moksa, Private Press , Treehouse for BBA Stouts ( not all with nutz) There's a whole ass Christmas Seasonsal Beer thread you can look at in the Beer Talk forum, maybe someone can link it. As far as Spooky Beers go i can't help you there. Good luck
Heres the Christmas ( winter seasonal)crap https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/your-favorite-christmas-beer.682080/#post-8279767
There are some incredible BA Imperial Dtouts out there - look at the list of the top ones on on BA. For me, the only way I have a chance of getting them would be by trading. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/top-styles/157/
Odd Side Ales out of Michigan have a BA stout they brew with hazelnut. Also, within the last couple months they released a 10th Anniversary variant with the addition of chocolate. Good luck. Hazel's Nuts Bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with coffee and hazelnut. Hazel's Nuts 10th Anniversary A special edition of Hazel's Nuts! Bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with coffee, hazelnut, and chocolate
Fremont brewing out of Seattle has a 2025 limited cuvee that is a barrel aged imperial stout with a blend of vanilla and hazelnuts. It's not on a par with their Rusty Nail, Bbomb cuvee or their (KDS) BBA dark star impy stout, but is still pretty tasty. Pricing is excellent as well (typically $20 for a four pack of 16 ounce cans or $6 for a single can).
If you don’t mind waiting 10 more months, Spooky Juice from Alvarado will fit this bill. or pretty much any regular release from Ghost Town.
