Genuinely curious: why do some places in MD get shipments of OH beers pretty regularly, yet nothing (AFAIK) in PA, NJ, CT?

To attract future buyers in their future DC spot. Once that opens, no more drops I imagine.

Ah, that makes sense. I didn’t know they were looking to open a spot there

OH Andrew is a Maryland dude and I'm sure there's something that feels good about going back home with beautiful beer. I think some of the coffee stouts have featured coffee from a Richmond roaster(? I don't know, I don't drink coffee, purveyor of beans grown across the world? whatever you call hispters owning coffee shops with their own labels of coffee).

If they're cranking out cans in DC, no need to do drops but the Rochester model shows satellite breweries can still exist and get Brooklyn (or Rochester) beer. Hopefully all the best beer comes through Brooklyn though! Quietly, a lot of the Rochester beer is the best stuff to get.

Also sounds like we may get OH W'sburg in October or so!

After drinking through what I got on Friday here is my feedback.

ACE is good, but not near the best batches they have done. Triple Broc Reserve was really good, need to get another can opened because I had the only can I opened after a few beers. DDH Go With The Flow is great, has that melon thing going on. Centre was as good as I remember when I had a taster back during the first release.

That first batch was awesome, hoping I can get some of this batch. Opened my first Centre last night and it was very enjoyable, I didn't get cans first go round but tried it on tap and it was just as good as I remember.

Stopped by for Centre cans and they had "found" some extra of five other beers not currently listed including Citra+Strata get your butts over there before it's all gone!

Also included (based my giddiness-induced tunnel vision) were Southerhopalistic, Forever Ever (maybe?) and Superfun and another can that's not Citra+Strata (you get where I'm going here).

    From OH Instagram:

At Other Half, we stand committed in the struggle against racial injustice, for human dignity, peace and equality. As an organization, we are vowing to work with our community leaders to develop and foster plans that help communities fight the effects of racism and prejudice.

Our business is built on community and that community defines us. In the coming weeks and months, we will begin announcing new partnerships and initiatives via our website where, as a small business, we can better support the fight for what is right.

To begin, we will be making donations today to the @NAACP, @BlackLivesMatter and the @ACLU. We want to do more. We must do more. We will do more. We are here and we stand in support of the Black Community. #blacklivesmatter

and for all of you who were really incensed by a certain shop out on Long Island, there's a great thread where you can show your support and continue to make it about more than just being able to drink with less guilt:

Now that Other Half has finally #drainedthelake, I nominate @BellportBeer to be the new Long Island OH outpost. Dave is about as unimpeachable as they come and has been a consistently positive force in Long Island's craft beer scene as well as the overall community.

Would gladly take the 35 minute drive on a regular basis to buy cans from them. Great bottle shop.

Dave’s busy enough as it is but if he wants in, it’s tough to come up with a better candidate. The OG and a friendly guy to boot. I definitely second this post.

Well...Lake Ronkonkoma Beverage’s (now ex-)owner is stepping down from any involvement with the place. We’ll see how that affects things.

Why do I feel like he is “stepping down” and not really stepping down?

Lol, been talking about that with my buddies via txt messages. I haven’t even considered going there since the R+B crap, and this will certainly not change that.

what he means is his dad is taking the shop back.

I second Bellport Beer. Dave is an awesome guy but I doubt he wants the extra hassle.
