All good! One of the reason I moved to sake is that bottling sake is way easier than beer! So nowadays I'm an assistant brewer/bottling manager.

This might be a little too off topic but I'm interested in how you got into sake. I'm interested in it but my experience with sake has purely been through places like Hi-Collar and other izakaya-esque places in NYC but I know next to nothing about it.

My ex-gf is Japanese and loved it, but I knew nothing about it. After we broke up earlier this year I wanted to study something new and thought sake would be interesting. So read every book about it and started drinking as much as I could. I learned that Sake and beer are extremely similar (check out this thread https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/sake.581761/ ). When I finally decided to leave OH, I realized I knew two guys who were trying to start a sake brewery in Brooklyn. So I talked with them and the rest is history.

Just two weeks ago I passed the Sake Advisory Certification which is the first stage of a kikizakeshi (sommelier). I highly suggest going to Sakamai (http://sakamai.com/) in the LES on a Monday night. Miss Sake USA hosts the Soul of Sake happy hour event and it's a great time. Amazing sake list and great food. Lots of sake industry people go here and it's a good place to learn.

And Kanger was part of a crew who week and week flawlessly canned the beers with no issues so #hazebois, #hazenewtons, #hazepeckers, #hazegramps and #hazeinserthere could get their fill with no problems.

Awesome, thank's for the advice. I'm someone who is super duper deep on both the beer scene but also on Scotch (its the drink of my people), so I've been interested in digging into further into other fermentation areas.

Haha, my dad isn't super into whisky although he has a pre-mothballed Glendronach 15 and a 1953 Strathisla in the cellar. I went to Heriot-Watt for grad school so I drank a lot of whisky in the whisky club. My granda hates whisky but he has a bottle of Balvenie 12yo literally right as you walk into their house, been meaning to take it back to me some time. My parents are both from Elgin so I feel like I'm supposed to love whisky.

All Nelson Everything was one of the best Other Half beers I've had the past few months. Aside from some of our all time favorite staples, this was one of their better ones in awhile IMO.

that double nelson daydream is pretty great, though admittedly I love nelson hops. very well-suited for the daydream treatment tho.

on the other hand, pretty surprised with how highly ddh citra daydream is rated... the cans I tasted from the recent release were really muted and flat, something seemed off, and i remember this from the last time i tried it too. maybe people just confuse it for the double version?

I agree that this version wasn't great.
