Thanks. Yeah, I didn't see that one- sounds like a hoot. I'll go take a look at YouTube to see if it's there.

    ETA- it's there!

Surprised no one has listed this one yet - Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale is one of the most earthy/peppery/woodsy IPAs, and is readily accessible to most.

Tallgrass Ethos IPA did this for me. It is a pretty fruity, juicy, sweet IPA upfront. It finished with a dry hop bite though and a noticeable pepper presence.

I didn't really either, but it's obvious with many Nelson beers.

I do also have my thumb in my ass.

    Ha, touché.

I'll go grab an Alpine Nelson and see if I can pick it up.

I for one don't find any "peppery" notes in Alpine Nelson--pre GF or current.

It does have a unique nose/flavor that I find difficult to define other than FANTASTIC!--maybe it is that feature some find peppery.

Candidly can't really think of an IPA with that reminds me of cracked fresh pepper.

While I think GD Titan is mostly pine, I get a spicy earthy pine from it. I hadn't had it in a while but I had one today and it tasted almost like a rye IPA to me. I bet you have had one as a fellow CO guy but if you haven't in a while maybe give it another visit. I am really impressed with it.

I don't get the pepper thing either.

Founders Dark Penance has some nice pepper notes. I like it because it really balances the hops and malt.

I also enjoy the peppery note in my IPA as well. The best one I've had so far is New Belgium Rampant Imperial IPA. It's tasty and inexpensive. Cheers!
