i am wondering which readily available IPAs have taste profiles that are a strong mix of Pine and Grapefruit without any other favors such as Tropical fruit or strong herbal notes

Pretty much any IPA that doesn't include Citra/New Zealand hops or was first produced before 2010. Sculpin, Two Hearted, Torpedo, Lagunitas IPA, all the basics really

Yeah, man, go basic - Stone IPA, Lagunitas IPA, etc.

Anything with Citra and Cascade for a grapefruit tasting note. Ballast Point Sculpin is one of the better knowns.

Pine is more a trait of Simcoe, nugget and amarillo. SN Hoptimum, Weyerbacher Double Simcoe and list goes on.

Hops high in Alpha-pinene and Beta-Pinene will be piney. For grapefruit look for hops high in 3-mercapto-4-methylpentan-1-ol.

Citra, Cascade, Centennial, Celeia, Green Bullet, Motueka, Riwaka, Simcoe...

I'd say Trillium Melcher St fits this bill pretty well.

Pizza Port Kook DIPA is the latest example of this. Just an incredible citrusy and piney flavor.

As much as I wish they were (because both are great), don't think these fit the OP's "readily available" spec.

Don't get me wrong, I love Fresh-Squeezed. It is probably my favorite IPA. However, I get a lot of rich tropical fruit in FS, and the OP specifically mentioned that he/she is only looking for pine/grapefruit w/o the tropical fruit.

So one post says Simcoe is piney, another says grapefruit....I remember more resin than citrus
