Alright, so cans kicked the crap out of bottles in my last poll, but today I was reading this thread about bombers moving to a 12 oz. format, and I wondered... (...wait for it...) ...given the choice, on any given day, for any given beer, would you rather have a bomber or a 12 oz. bottle?

And before trolls and nay-sayers cast their aspersions, this isn't about 4 or 6 packs, it isn't about kegs or taps or growlers - it's a "bombers versus 12 oz. bottles" poll for people who have a preference between the two.

Feel free to provide your rationale.

And for the record, even though I love that bomber aesthetic, I can mix and match small bottles in 4- and 6-packs, and I like portion control, so I voted 12 oz. bottle. Plus I'm really excited to see Stone's Enjoy By in 12 oz. bottles :stuck_out_tongue:

    Cheers

Agreed, we both tend towards the bomber aesthetic, as you put it. Sharing is also caring, so since there is two of us, it is reasonable for us to split bombers and keep on truckin'.

    "portion control"

good words ... that's why i always prefer smaller bottles. i only buy bombers when they are the only option. and count me double on the Stone Enjoy By 12 oz. thing.

I guess it depends on the beer. It would definitely be fun to have some bombers in the 12 oz. format. However, there are some transitions that don't seem to make sense. For example, BA Santa's Little Helper moved from bomber to 375ml format, but the price didn't change. That's no good. I would love to see some beers transition to smaller formats as long as the price also goes down accordingly. Overall, I don't mind the bomber format.

Call me the odd one, but i personally prefer bombers. Bomber 4 packs or 6 packs would be cool  but that's not what you're talking about. Even though I normally drink by myself, I still prefer bombers( or even a 750ml, just a couple of ounces extra). When I drink beer I very rarely have just one, usually it's two or three. With a bomber, I only have to technically drink just "one"

I prefer bombers, because when I buy one, I know full well that it provides 2-3 pours, and I'll be sipping on it for some time, so I don't mind the higher price if reasonable. It's more bout the experience rather than doing math on price per ounce for me.

I enjoy the bomber format, it encourages drinking with friends and bottle sharing...if I get a rare 12oz, I tend to drink it on my own, rare bombers I tend to wait for bottle share nights.

I like drinking multiple different beers in one session so smaller portions of each are better

I prefer 12oz, unfortunately 75% of my favorite beers have come from bombers.

A bomber is just, like, two 12oz bottles that you have to open and drink at the same time.

...and if we would stop buying those bombers that same beer would be available in 12 ounce form

I hate to say this, but 12oz bottles.

For some reason, I had a difficult time finishing my Enjoy By last night. Usually that bomber would be long gone, but I was struggling yesterday. So, it would be nice to see the Enjoy By series come in a 6pack.

or maybe, just maybe breweries might say "hey, they caught on to us and our bomber format scam, let's just put our beer in 12 ouncers and not overcharge". Less profit from a beer is better than no profit at all
