Founders...I actually had to do a sit down and list the beers out.

I have to say Bell's. I love the Eccentric Cafe and go each time I'm there. Always some funky stuff on draft and very friendly folks. Limited releases are good though it's more of a draw with Founders on that issue. Bell's for Expedition, the small Batch series, Hopslam, cherry stout, etc.

They often have other lagers at the brewery. Doppelbock in season, and Q falls is very good. Oktoberfest is good some years. Smoked vienna is unique. Many have been on as Larry's lager trial x, as they were testing recipes for the UP brewery.

I vote Bells, though I like Founders too.

I vote Bell's. Both breweries had very good year-round offerings but Bell's always had beers on tap that are pub-only beers, and Founders sometimes has nothing special beyond their regular or seasonal menu beers in their pub.

I love Two Hearted, Hopslam, Expedition Stout, and Black Note is one of my all time favorite beers.

    But seriously. Founders.

Bells by a bit. I really enjoy founders, but I enjoy the wide range of styles bells has and buy them more often.

Both breweries did commemorative beers for the National Homebrewers Conference last week, and supported the conference. They are class acts.

Bell's if I'm drinking from a pint glass, Founders if drinking from a snifter.

I'd go with Founders. I do prefer Black Note to KBS however I think Founders non-super limited line-up is better than Bells. Two Hearted is great but I can't get enough of: Rubaeus, Backwoods Bastard, All Day, Centennial, Old Curmudgeon, Founders Porter, and Breakfast Stout. I really am not a huge fan of Hop Slam. All that said... I still really like Bells!

Bells. Other than the Imperial Stout, I've yet to truly enjoy a Founders beer

You don't like KBS and Breakfast Stout? Must not be a coffee fan then.

Haven't been fortunate to try KBS, I had Breakfast Stout and I thought it was a good beer, but wasn't worth what I paid for it ($13.99/4 pk)

If we are only talking beer, it's Founder's.

If we are talking the experience all around, Bell's.(Deeper craft brew roots, Cafe/Backroom/Beer Garten, silent releases) If LarryBell ever follows through with his Sportsbar in the back of the garten, that place will be a beer drinking mecca.

I'm curious to experience Bell's. I'm only 2 hours from Kalamazoo. Worth the drive just for the experience?

I give it to Founders based on these:

    1. KBS and BN are virtually on par with each other - both are amazing and even if you have a preference of one over the other, the difference would be slight.
    2. I am not an IPA fan, so Hopslam > Double Trouble doesn't sway me at all.
    3. Founders makes Backwoods Bastard.

    The end.

Two-Hearted is constantly in my fridge (CANS NOW). Beers from both of these are constantly in my beer fridge (mini fridge in the garage, but it seems like Founder's shows up more and in a larger variety.

Nobody mentioned Canadian Breakfast Stout. I know they don't brew it anymore, but it was a fantastic beer. Petition to bring this back?

Fan of Kalamazoo? That made it tough for me. Along with Two-Hearted, Expedition, and Hopslam

Founders without question. I plan to try bells again and again thanks to the love it gets but I've yet to be impressed by a bells beer. I've had two-hearted on tap and bottles, I've had oberon a few times, I thought Kalamazoo stout was bland. Founders regular line up crushes bells, with all day, porter, FBS, and the DHPA all hands down better than bells beer in my opinion. The backstage series is always incredible and that's not even counting Founders special releases. Founders takes it.
