Drank one on Sunday and had what may be your future reaction which is "this is more hoppy than I remember". Per their website and BA desc, "Saison-Brett, based on our very popular Tank 7, is assertively dry hopped".

You must mean it doesn't have a sour taste, since no beer is a "sour" because "sour" is a descriptive term, not a recognized beer style.

Not a sour [beer]. I was using sour as an adjective, not a noun. Regardless, pretty sure people knew what I was talking about.

Are you implying that Wild Bitter is a non-sour "sour"? ;-) If it doesn't taste sour, and sour isn't a style ... then it really doesn't fit the OP's ask, right?

Jolly Pumpkin Luciérnaga is a Sour Pale Ale. So it's not extremely hoppy, but has about the same level of hoppiness as a Pale Ale.

Saying it's " not a sour" implies he thinks that sour is a beer style and Wild Bitter isn't one. Saying it's "not sour" simply means it lacks that taste characteristic. A real difference. I've never had Wild Bitter so I don't know if it tastes sour, but I do know it isn't "a sour", because that's not a beer style. Hope this clarifies.

Wild bitter is an American Wild Ale. We know this style is as vague as the term sour. Wild bitter is funky "brett" and lack tartness "sour". Its an IIPA which most not all are fermented a second time with brett.

The real question is what do you mean by sour? That is kind of Vague. Because most Hoppy "Sours" you will find are going to be dry-hopped saisons or american wilds made with Brett creating a funky beer not necessarily sour like a lacto beer will be. The only "sour" beer that has actually sour and hoppy not really funky i have had is Novale - Oec Brewing. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/34667/135134/?ba=acurtis

Hops above 10 IBU or so limit Lactobacillus growth. Dry hopping would be the way to go.
