If you are in the midst of working out a trade with them and the ball is in your court, please respond with an update. It's common courtesy. I've been working on a few trades here and there and many people are not responding to questions/inquires. If you don't want to trade then no worries. Just please inform the other party so they can move on.

I often see a failure to respond to BM's as an indirect "I'm no longer interested". If this occurs to you, feel free to move on and offer your beers to other traders.

I agree just let the other person you are corasponding with know that you have decided against the trade for whatever reason. I actually have had to message folks after they failed to respond and ask them if they are still intrested and if not just to let me know so I can contact some other folks, and still had no response at times. Really it's just common courtesy and to me keeps things open for future trades.

If you can start a conversation you should be able to politely end one as well, only takes a minute.

I almost made this same thread last week. I'm not butthurt if someone doesn't want to trade with me but if you put up an ISO: FT: & I respond with what you are asking for or close then I feel a response should be sent.
Whether you want to trade, or not, at least shoot me a quick message that says "sorry this is done" or "I'm working with someone else" etc as a courtesy.

I've had a few like that too, it takes a minute , if I think the delay is excessive I just leave the conversation and move on. If it's a hassle working out a trade then I kinda suppose shipping and communication will also be a little off. I don't want to sweat this kinda stuff.

I totally agree. If it's taking forever just to get a few responses, I usually just walk away.
Trading should be fun, not a hassle.

If your communication is piss poor or non-existent, I "Leave Conversation". It takes 2 secs to drop a line. Don't be a rude dude.

I've voiced the same discontent before: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/trading-communication-etiquette.132572/

It got to the point where I went as far as adding a blurb in my profile saying that I will not interact with or trade with those who have poor/no communication courtesy. I did in fact ignored traders who posted ISO which I had and want to trade for what they had. I also don't take my time to response with relevant information that they are seeking in the rest of the discussion forum.

The issue with having to wait is that you lose time and may haven been able to complete another trade with the beers you've offered up to the non-responsive traders.
