Can you not replace the 1/4" barb/MFL on the manifold?

Actually, this is my plan, i.e., to replace the gas-in barb on the manifold with a 5/16" barb. But I don't want to replace the three gas out valve-barb pieces too. So the manifold essentially would become a reducer coupling, going from one 5/16" to three 1/4" hoses. I am wondering if there are problems with this that I am not anticipating.

Edit: I may be mistaken, but I thought the gas-in piece is an NPT coupling. Curse these different fittings. This is just the sort of thing that will get me in trouble.

I can't say I know of any reason you can't do what you are planning.
