My local TW (Claymont, DE) has shelves of singles. I am uncertain if they have a published policy concerning removing singles from six-packs. I have not done a mix-a-six at my local TW in years since the vast majority of time the bottles/cans on the singles shelves are so darn old.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!

I agree with many on the singles being old but my store always has new stuff in that its not a major issue. I would say most of what I buy is 4 weeks or less in age which is pretty dang good. I have seen beers 6 mos old also so its all about being a smart consumer and taking the time to ensure your buying fresh. If I find a beer with no date I don't buy it, I am a strong proponent of breweries using clean dates because if your pride your creation you will boldly advertise its freshness.
    Cheers.

you know, I'm pretty pissed about this thread being taken off the grid. A newbie was asking a simple, relevant question and you guys turned it into a total wine slamathon, so then it was banished to the wasteland because Todd has a vested interest in two putting up ba signs showing what each beer is rated. Political correctness run amok. Meanwhile, a newbie loses out. Who cares, right. @JackHorzempa

I understand the frustration with old beers in the singles section, but I hardly think it's fair to blame TW. Although I usually prefer to shop independent, TW is my go-to place for beer. That's partially due to its proximity to my house, but also because their quality and quantity are very competitive.

Anecdotally, I regularly find very old beers (warm, I might add) on the shelf at one of the most highly regarded independent bottle shops in the state. I find some beers at TW that I wouldn't consider "fresh", but I've never seen anything downright old (like a 1+ year old "fresh hop" IPA) like I have at the independent shop. I suspect TW as a corporation has some sort of guidelines on when to redline/discard old product that most independent shops simply don't have.

With that said, in answer to the OP, I'd recommend starting with this list: https://www.beeradvocate.com/lists/state/nm/ Grab as many of those as you can find, then start looking at the lists for nearby states that may distribute to you (Colorado and Arizona spring to mind first, and I'm sure you get tons of good California distro like most of the country).
