So recently I've been trying DIPAs and really getting into them...I've heard amazing things about resin and hi res (that's a triple ipa I think) and I want to by but I am concerned on the age on them. Around my stores most of the packs have a best by date of December 2015 but I'd rather drink them as fresh as possible. Any one who has had either of these with a couple months of age see a drop-off in them or are they still drinking good?

    Thanks for the feedback.

I am not one of those people in the "have to drink an IPA within a week of bottling/canning" camp. I don't think a couple of months should not be a problem - unless there were weird storage/shipping high temperature problems (which might be more likely during the summer months). Some of the heavy duty hop aficionados may disagree.

I've had Hi Res when it wasn't as fresh as possible (my friend said he was waiting for an occasion to drink it). Can't tell you exactly how old it was, but it was awesome.

If the packaging is say you still have 5 months to the Best By date, I'm guessing that's pretty damn fresh.

Here's a couple of threads about Sixpoint's dating:

I drank a Hop Nosh by Uinta with a BBD of 2/2015 (improper rotation by bartenders). It still tasted fine. Side by side, how much difference you really expecting to taste? Would you be able to tell? Are you not going to buy it because its 4 month old? Doesnt degrade that fast..
