It's not very good when it's old. There's stacks of it in every grocery store in Northern VA and it's all old, possibly even coming out of the wholesalers warehouse old.

Sucks, cause it is really great when it's under a month old. I used to buy cases of the stuff when the 6pks were "seasonal."

I like Hop Stoopid better but I can't find that fresh anymore either.

Agree...it's hard to find fresh, but even when it is, it's not the same beer.

I think that its just in your head. When beers are available year round they seem less special, and less of a treat. Obviously if the beer is old it will SUCK more.

We can get 6-packs and 32oz format regularly here in CA, and is usually pretty fresh. Usually the best option when shopping at a big chain supermarket and great price point. Wish they did 12 packs instead of 32oz though.

It was still really good last I remember, but I haven't had it in a year or more. I only buy beer a couple of times a month and I've been getting stuff I've never had before almost every time. I want to revisit it soon, though.

It is probably the most consistent thing I do when I go into a beer store/grocery store that sells Sucks, grab a bottle out of the six pack holder, wipe condensation off of the neck and try to read/find the date. Set bottle back, reach in the back and grab another. I will get a six pack of this about once every 2 months, when it is fresh, it is a great 1 beer for the weeknight beer. This is my go to IPA for keeping around the house.

I am the beer clerk at my grocery store and since I asked the vendor to start bringing SUCKS in, I can't keep it on the shelves. Freshness is, therefore, not an issue. I have had numerous customers thanking me for bringing it into the store. It is also the first beer to which I ever gave a perfect 5 rating.

Impressive, but I think you have to start saying you're in your mid twenties now.

I've tried it a few different times over the years but it never really did it for me. I got the taste that a lot of people have been describing.

FYI - the bottling date is there but difficult to read. On the neck right at the liquid level in Julian format. Black ink also so you need to hold it up to light.

Seasonal beer = can't wait for it. Tastes great every year.
Year round beer = Ho hum. Been there, had that. Tastes great sometimes.

It has happened with me with pretty much every beer that goes from seasonal to year round. Flower Power is another one that has faded from my memory, due to being year around and the change in head brewers. So long as Celebration, Waldo's and Founders Breakfast Stout stay seasonal, I"m good.

I'm hopeful that now that Lagunitas has announced they're going to start canning, they'll eventually get around to Sucks. If that happens, it'll be fresh everywhere for a little while.

I'm 99% sure, but Sucks only offered on 12oz/6pk. I think it might of been this way for a year, so I think you might want to stay away from the 32oz bottles that are still laying around.

I know in Texas I don't see them anymore, that would be the definition of a shelf turd if I did, God knows how old it would be
