i thought sam adams Thirteenth Hour was pretty good. It's not advertised as being sour, but it is.

I don't think it's easy to get, but Melange No. 1 is an interesting mix of Black Tuesday and Oude Tart.

Last year I had Weyerbacher Heresy on draft somewhere and the keg was infected. It was freaking delicious. I wish they would attempt a sour stout.

I have never really thought of WW Black Angel as a stout, but it's awesome and worth seeking out. Atramentous is very good, as well, but if you go looking for it be warned that it's not nearly as sour as a Tart of Darkness. I'm gonna try a bottle again in a year and see what age does to it.

Yeah reserve society only. Sometimes if you are lucky they will randomly tap it at the tasting room. I love the stuff, still have a few bottles I have been saving

Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura is a fantastic sour stout. I put it up there with Funk Metal and Tart of Darkness.

Also, Leelanau Brewing just released Michilimackinac Line 5 Imperial Stout. It's a barrel aged imperial sour stout. I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard great things. Leelanau does awesome sour beers so I'm expecting this to be fantastic. Might be tough to score in OH though.

This! Atramentous is fantastic. It's a soured barrel aged belgian stout and one of the most interesting/complex brews I've ever had. The stout base is much more prevalent than Tart of Darkness with a thicker and more velvety mouthfeel and the sour is pulled back a bit. It's still available in VA and should be relatively easy to trade for.

Get yourself some Crooked Stave Nightmare on Brett. Technically a porter, but probably my favorite of all the dark sours. I think it is definitely a tough style to pull off and no one does it better than Crooked Stave

Jackie O's Dark Robustic is a great sour porter. Not exactly easy to find, but it's popped up at the last few quarterly bottle releases, and since you're in Ohio it seems at least doable.

Leelanau is Jolly Pumpkin's owner and founder's side project. Line 5 sounds awesome!

Word on the street is that Ducato's My Blueberry Nightmare is one of the most extreme versions of this style. I have a bottle, and, frankly, I'm afraid to open it.

I just grabbed a bottle of the Leelanau last week. I absolutely love Madrugada so I am certainly looking forward to cracking that one soon since Ron is in charge of brewing all their beers currently. Been impressed by every single one from Leelanau thus far.
