I love big sours and I can't get enough of them, so What is most intensely mouth puckering sour you have ever had? If this isn't also the best sour you've ever had, what is?

I found Love Child #4 to be extremely sour. Great beer, but really made me pucker. A few of my friends disagreed with me though.

I'd say my favorite is Oude Gueuze from Hanssens.

Love Child #4 was really sour. The '10? Weyerbacher Reserva was super crazy sour. Was not a good beer though... I think it'll be a good day when the talk shifts from the sourest sour to the funkiest, most complex, most drinkable American sours... Were getting there...

Ritterguts Gose really caught me off guard, although I don't really know sours, so everyone might think that I'm weak by saying that :stuck_out_tongue:

Will have to agree with everyone on Love Child #4, just absolutely bracingly sour. Delicious, though.

The idea that the most sour is also the best sour is crazy IMO. The most sour beer I've had, at least that comes to mind immediately, would probably be AC Golden Framboise Noir, which was good but in small doses. pH might have been the same as some others I've had, but the acetic vinegar qualities made it close to a drainpour.

That's a tough one, close call between The Bruery Sans Pagaie, and a 9 year old bottle of Dogfish Head Festina Lente

A 2004 Cantillon Kriek I had in September of 09. Nothing I've tried since has come close.

I haven't had it, but the Bruery's Mother Funker is the most sour one that I've heard of, since my friend describes it as, "battery acid that will peel the enamel off your teeth."
The most sour one that I've had doesn't immediately come to mind, since I usually have sours in pairs and it can be hard to differentiate them. I think it might have to be the Bruery's Griffon Bruxellois (if it is how I think it is).

Honorable Mention: Stillwater's Gose Gone Wild is the most sour Gose that I've ever had.

Upland Kiwi Lambic with @GRDave and a group of others. It was so sour that all of us ended up drain pouring it. Way too overpowering. My favorite sours to date are Brett and Peche and St. Lamvinus.

It's been a few months, but 2013 Hommage was pretty sour. In this case, it's also the best sour beer I've ever had. Somewhat hard to recall all of these, but I think Texian's Charlie Foxtrot was the most sour beer I've had. It was like drinking stomach acid. I enjoyed it though. Still have yet to try any Upland lambics.

Cascade Kriek, all big sourness with no funk... Was not a fan but the OP might like if sourness is all he's after.
