    Good morning BAs,

About a month ago I bought a Summit SBC 500. I have run a sixtel of Alagash White through it so far and the carbonation on the beer was just fine, great. Every time however when i start to pour it spits out maybe half to a third a pint of foam before the beer itself begins to flow and i end up pouring out a lot. The temperature inside the kegerator is 32-34 degrees and the PSI is at 9-10. I had the psi at 12-15 for a while and it didnt seem to make a diffrence so I have been slowly lowering it. I will note that the few times where I have poured a couple pints in a row the foam spitting issue seems to be mostly negated, but it is still there a little when I first pull the handle down. There is maybe 2 feet of line between the keg and the faucet. My wife bought me a keg of enjoy by for my birthday and I wanted to see if I could fix this foam problem before tapping the enjoy by becasue its a much more expensive beer and I dont want to waste a lot of it by spitting out foam each glass. Thank you for any input!

For first beer foam you need to look into tower coolers. They can be had on eBay for $30-$40. The issue is that the beer in the line warms up and causes CO2 breakout. To properly balance your system you need to know the temperature of the beer, not the temperature of the air in the kegerator, as well as the volumes of CO2 for the particular beer. From there you adjust your pressure using a force carbonation chart.
