A great alternative that's pretty readily available out here as well as some other parts of the country is Alesmith Speedway Stout. I personally prefer its thickness and feel to that of Ten Fidy.

You two can fight this out in a thread that barely cooled off less than a month ago: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/adjunct-misinformation.628160/
(... and I'll be shocked if either you has an argument not already stated somewhere in that discussion.)

$18 is not a bad price for 4 x 12oz servings of a thick, delicious imperial stout. You might also look around and see if you can find it cheaper. I believe TenFidy is about $16-18 a four-pack here in Colorado. You could also contact OB and ask them what they sell for in the taproom (I would call the Tasty Weasel in Longmont, CO).

Wonder if the OP is referring to the BA version? I think that's more in the $18 range around here with the regular version coming in around $12.

Looks like a road trip is the next order of business for the OP. Rent a trailer, drive to Colorado, and load 'er up! (Been there, done that - not with Ten Fidy, though.)

While Old Rasputin is a great beer, I don’t think it compares to Ten FIDY in a few ways, including one the OP mentioned: feel

But in my mind, nothing compares to Ten FIDY across the board, including Narwhal, which I thought would be an interesting side-by-side. I liked Narwhal better, but the fact is that it was dead obvious which was which is the “no comparison” point.

That said, the suggestions I’ve seen here that I think could work (on top of Narwhal) are Speedway Stout and the big Michigan breweries’ imperial stouts.

It's been a while since I've had these, but I remember thinking Stone RIS, Stone Narwhal, Bell's Expedition, and Victory Storm King were fairly comparable to normal Ten Tidy.

If I could, I'd load up on Bull and Bush Royal Oil. That one blew me away. Like it's the American counter to Thomas Hardy Ale.

I reckon that Expedition has an excellent thickish mouthfeel. It sold out very quickly in Casper but I still have a couple of bottles left.

[QUOTE="All are class A brews but if I had to go with something even remotely close to the taste of Ten Fidy, I would go with Old Rasputin. In that class and price point, it's my next "go to" imperial stout. Good luck![/QUOTE]

So just got back from the store...found some North Coast Old Rasputin....only 11 bucks for a 4 pack so bought four. Also bought some Great Lake Blackout Stout...again only 11 bucks for 4.

Drinking the Rasputin now....not quite as thick and creamy as Ten Fidy, not quite as smooth...a little more carbonationy? Is that a word? But all in all not bad. Better than the Dragon Milk and the price is good. I'll try a Blackout later or maybe tomorrow.

Looks like it’s been covered. I’ll second:
    Old Rasputin
    Founders Imperial
    Yeti

And speaking of Yeti, while a lighter flavor and abv, since you like full bodied/big mouthfeel I would try some Cream or Oatmeal Stouts.
Anderson Valley makes a good one. Also Samuel Smith and Sam Adams Cream Stout (assuming they haven’t changed or discontinued it)

As an aside, I love it when a new member starts a question thread, reads and responds to replies and then reports back on his or her progress.

I’m not sure it makes it down to you, but Dieu du Ciel! Grande Noirceur is a nice one. A medium body to my mouth, but not thin.
