The Abyss Deschutes 2014 release

I thought the 2009/2010 vintages were sublime and remain one of the best stouts I've ever had. I agree that it took a dive after that.

 

Cool you'll get to try one of the most over-hyped/over-priced beers of all time.

 

No chance this ever makes it to any Costco.

 

So TX can expect this.. when... 2015?

 

Nope, '13 ws pretty sub par. Not impressed by cheap BA of this beer. Also, why plain oak and wine barrels? Why not mostly Bourbon BA? The wine barrel always imparts a gross sweetness for me.

 

Doesn't matter anymore. Beer on the Wall was my place that would ship to New Hampshire, they are no more. I don't trade or want to trade. So my last 2 Abyss from 2012 are all I have left. One of favorites.

 

Does a lot of the Deschutes distro get Founders Backwoods Bastard? Think there's any shot in doing $4$ for some Abyss for it?

How crazy will the Portland pub be tonight? I would like to head over to taste some Abyss but I am not the stand in line or fight the crowd type. Anyone know?

 

Appreciate the offer, but I don't know what my schedule looks like yet and I don't have any means of transportation, so I'm just going to take my chances. Sadly, I fly in the day after the festival. Didn't even know it existed...kind of wish I still didn't know that

 

I'm here but I have been traveling to Denver a bunch for work which will stop after Thanksgiving. Thanks for the offer, want to at some point as I have 6 month old twins too so getting out of the house is limited at times but getting better each month.

According to the Deschutes beer finder, there isn't any Abyss around LA county yet.

 

Yea, I meant in general on my Whole Foods runs in search of various limited beers.

 

Since we just started getting Deschutes here in Pittsburgh, thoughts on Pittsburgh distribution??
