Not that it is something I can get without trading a spleen, and I like my spleen, but Atrial Rubicite. I've tried trading at least 2-3x the dollar value, and haven't even gotten a nibble.

Followed closely after by the more highly regarded de Garde beers.

Here's a link to just about all of them that I can't get. Focus on the top half of the list

Beers that I know are distrubuted around here, but I've missed out on by days, hours, minutes:
    -Pirate Bomb
    -Abraxas

Urban Chestnut Oxnbräu would be my suggestion for an American Doppelbock.

Assassin. I haven't been extremely diligent about chasing it, though.

Surly Darkness, most anything from 3F, being in SoCal. The Dissident is also one that seems to be hiding in the weeds from me.

Aecht Schlenkerla Krausen. I have heard that it occassionaly gets put on tap here. More recently I have been chasing Bells Octoberfest. My travel schedule never seems to line up with when it is available.

Grimm IPA/DIPA in cans. Man, are they hard to come by!

Others would be Pliney the Younger, MBC Dinner (although I've had a few times, always can go for more), King Sue.

PM me when the next King Sue release comes out. They're coming more frequently now (one in Dec., one in February) I usually road trip to Decorah for a case. I'd be happy to set you up with no huge unobtanium trade expectations.

From what I heard about PtY, it's tap only and no growlers, so I figure it's a unicorn for me. I've been to Cali twice in my 50+ years, so the odds of me being there at the right time are infinitesimally small. MBC is similar. When am I ever going to be in Maine? I don't know anyone there, so I just shrug my shoulders and move on to one of the myriad of fantastic IPAs and DIPAs out there.

I would probably have to say Arctic Devil. Of course it doesn't help that we don't get distro here, but I have assembled a barrel aged barleywine collection over the past few years for a huge tasting party that includes Bourbon County, Sucuba, Hand & Seal, Mother of All Storms, Billionaire, Mash, Brick Kiln, Mirror Mirror, and Insanity that doesn't seem complete without it. Saw it online once at Craftshack, but couldn't find enough other beer I wanted to complete a min order. Probably need Kuhnhenn too anyway:slight_smile:

Correct it's draft only no growler. Available in Denver as well as Philly outside of the west coast when it releases during SF beer week

I've been wanting to try Bottomcutter since I first saw it mentioned about a year ago. From time to time it turns up on tap locally, but I always manage to miss it.

Exactly. Can't have your beer and drink it too. It's no fun sitting in the cellar....

Ah, I am quite relaxed; my apologies for coming off otherwise.

I probably should have said "I regret opening it so early because it was so delicious and I wish I could get more".

The question was what is your most elusive beer so the answer remains the same....CBS. If I had known it would never be produced again probably I would've waited a bit longer for the right party/bottle share instead of just having it on a average Netflix/TV night. So I guess "wish I never opened" is a bit of a strong statement....maybe I should have said "I regret I had not opened it on a different evening". Whatever haha

Also my "cellar" isn't really impressive at all. Just an 2013 Abyss and a FW Anniversary 18. Nothing insane really, it's not like I'm some beer hoarder who ages every single rare release they get their hands on, waiting for the perfect day to open........and if I was that kind of person, that would be my prerogative right?:grinning:

Anecdotal but Sip of Sunshine. I live in NJ but in Connecticut frequently enough where it is made and distributed. I always just miss it at the shops and keg always "just" gets kicked when at a restaurant/bar that has it on the menu. Once we were in my old town and instead of going to our normal bar we checked out a new establishment. They didn't have it at this new place but, what do you know, they had it on tap at my old bar at that same time.....wha wha
