I went shopping today and picked about about half of the beers I'm going to ship.
    Hint 1: shipping east
Hint 2: the state I'm shipping to has multiple participants in this BIF
Hint 3: the state I'm shipping to has hadmultiple golf courses host the US Open but has no set plans of hosting the event in the future.

Also, to my target, I'm going to be pretty blunt right now, like this post and I'll send you a bottle of 2013 BCBS. But, no like, no bottle...

Did the growler make it to you ok? I bubble wrapped the heck out of it.

If I had known that, I DEFINITELY would have included a cherry stout beer!

All good. Safe & sound. I was expecting a half growler, not the beast of a 64 ouncer!

After my last time shipping, I was a little nervous about this. You won't regret it. Fresh stuff!

Speaking of growlers, I might include one in my box...first ever
If I can make it in time to get it, and have the balls to ship a growler.

This beer, with I might add an awesome name Chief sawnee's stash coconut porter is freaking awesome. Dark fruit, coconut, and vanilla flavors. MMM goood

So, folks more experienced at this than I.. is there anyway to get someone's beers/wants in a more useful format? Wants and Hads aren't always in sync and it is a hell of a task going through both lists

Not that I'm aware of, but if you figure it out let me know. If I'm your target (or, 'to my sender') allow me to apologize for the mess that is my wants/hads. My hads are completely up to date, and extensive as they are, my wants not so much. I have a bad habit of not taking something off my wants once I've had it (sometimes intentionally, 'permawant'; sometimes not so intentionally). With that said, if you send me something on my wants list, I will not be disappointed, and worst case scenario I've had it and did not feel like I needed more, and it gives me a great chance to beer it forward to someone else who hasn't tried it yet.

That's true, I'm sure mine is the same way too lol. I'll probably focus on a couple wants and go omakase for the rest of the box. I guess that's what the style preferences are for.

Complete opposite here, very well updated wants list. Not so well on the hads/gots.

So I'm confused, but does this sound right?

    - If something is a want, and neither a had nor a got, the person wants it
    - If something is a want and a got, regardless of whether or not it's a had, the person probably still wants it since they made the effort to mark it as a got without taking it off their wants
-- If something is a want and a had, but not a got, that's where it gets tricky -- if the date of the "want" add is later than the date they drank it, that probably means they liked it and want more (I would probably check their rating too). If the date they drank it is later than the day they added it as a want, that could mean it's a permawant, or it could mean they forgot to de-want it. Again, I guess if they rated it a 4.5 I might still send it, if they rated it a 2.25 I probably wouldn't.

Hopefully I didn't make anybody's head explode (besides my own)

One thing that helps me a lot is to sort wants by brewery and then scan it quickly to see what I think I can get my hands on easily. And I am a nerd and actually download stuff into a spreadsheet, the problem is BA only lists 50 at a time, and then becomes painful depending on how many wants and hads your target has. But again, if you find a few breweries your target expressed interest in, and then sort their hads the same way, it's a quicker way to compare.

Awesome, didn't even notice the ability to sort. That should make things a lot easier

If I have it as a want that means I want it. I try to take things off of my list as I get them. There are beers that even though I have tried them I still want more.
