We are so excited to announce that Other Half Brewing Company is coming to The Veil for a Tasting Room Remix ™ on Tuesday January 14th in RVA and a Pop-Up Can release/Tasting Room Remix ™ on Wednesday January 15th in NFK! ❤️⠀

We will have a bunch of different OH drafts pouring in RVA on that Tuesday and a bunch of drafts and cans to go from OH in NFK on that Wednesday. Sam(Co-founder/Head Brewer) himself will be at both locations hanging out! ⠀

Barrel Chest Wine and Beer

We were fortunate enough to get 4 different Mixed Fermie bottles from The Veil (for on-site consumption only, NO exceptions) we will be offering 4 and 8oz pours of each:

Vast: Five - Mixed Fermie brewed with raw wheat, lightly hopped with Motueka, and then fermented with one of their favorite combos of Saison and Brettanomyces strains. After 14 months in barrels accompanied by their house culture, it was fruited with a ton of raspberries and cherries.

Mergence III - A dry-hopped barrel fermented Mixed Fermie w/Nelson and Amarillo

Escape - Brett fermented IPA (Master Shredder) aged in red wine barrels

All That You Are - Mixed fermentation spelt farmhouse inspired ale barrel fermented in freshly dumped red wine French oak barrels for 12 months. The barrels were then blended and allowed to condition in the bottle

 

AMUN RA is a collaboration beer with Omnipollo that has been in the works for 3+ years. Some of you may remember a DIPA named AMUN (The Hidden One) originally released in early 2017 both in Sweden by Omnipollo and here in Virginia at The Veil. In 2019 we each also brewed and released a beer together called RA, a TIPA with Nelson, Galaxy, and Simcoe. ⠀

AMUN RA is a dense Imperial Stout that we brewed back on 02/02/17 and put away into bourbon barrels for 18 months. We then double barrel aged it, half in Maple @BLiSgourmet barrels, the other half in @lairdsapplejack Apple Brandy barrels. Those barrels rested in our warehouse for another 18 months. We created two separate variants with different treatments with descriptions of each listed below.

- We will be having the world premiere of both AMUN RA variants(*draft only*)will be this Sunday 02/02/2020 at Side Project Invitational: A Festival of Barrel-aged Stouts and Barleywines.

- The variants will be released in bottle and on draft on Tuesday 2/4 in our Richmond taproom and Wednesday 2/5 in our Norfolk taproom.

Bourbon/Maple Amun Ra - Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels for 18 months, then maple bourbon barrels for 18 months, then conditioned on toasted and fresh coconut as well as Videri Chocolate cocoa nibs. Tastes like rich chocolate coconut pie, chocolate syrup, and macaroons. 13% ABV⠀
Approx. 150x total 500ml bottles available. ⠀
1x pp limit. $30.00+tax each.

Bourbon/Apple Brandy Amun Ra - Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels for 18 months, then Laird’s Apple Brandy barrels for 18 months, then conditioned on whole Madagascar vanilla beans and Vietnamese cinnamon. Incredible flavors of French toast with freshly ground cinnamon on top, vanilla bean maple syrup, and a very complex depth of barrel character. 13% ABV⠀

They will be split between the two taprooms. Not evenly though. We highly suggest getting there as soon as possible on Tuesday to make sure you get your bottles. We will not be releasing this beer again for another 6-7 years."

 

Veil's 4th Anniversary Week has been announced.......Tues. Apr. 28th - Sun. May 3rd . Events will be planned for both RVA and NFK. No more details released yet.

 

On Friday, Feb 21 we’re gonna let some cellar Imperial Stouts loose on y’all! We’ll be tapping some cool kegs and selling some bottles to-go in very limited quantities. ❤️ Starting Tuesday March 17th, we will be moving to outdoor to-go sales only at both our Scott’s Addition(RVA) and Railroad District(NFK) locations for the foreseeable future. Cans will be sold directly outside of the main entrance of our taproom under a tent in the parking lot side of both locations. All draft and on-site consumption will be temporarily unavailable. We will be maintaining normal business hours in RVA and NFK. We will be closing our Funkhaüst Cafe temporarily for the foreseeable future also. ⠀

❤️ We will be announcing the fresh cans being released this Tuesday 3/17 in RVA and Wednesday 3/18 in NFK through out the day today, Monday the 16th.

❤️ We will not be hosting food trucks in Richmond, and we will be offering a limited to-go menu from Codex at our Norfolk location. ⠀

❤️ We will be postponing our DC Draft pop-up at Dock 5 to an undetermined date. As of right now, we will be moving forward with the pop-up can release in DC at Craft Beer Cellar. - In your email, please provide your name, phone number and delivery address along with your requested order. (Please order in 4-pack increments, order should not exceed 24x 4-packs)⠀
- We will be doing same day delivery for all orders placed and paid for before 12pm. Once paid, please be on the lookout for a phone call to update you on expected time of delivery.⠀
- Orders placed after 12pm each day will be delivered the following day. Once paid, please be on the lookout for a phone call the following day to update you on expected time of delivery.⠀
- The person receiving the order must be 21 or older, present government issued ID with name that matches the name on the order.⠀
- There will be a $40 minimum per order, plus a $5 delivery fee. ⠀
- Maximum of 4 cases per order (24x 4-packs). ⠀

***This will be a trial for Richmond areas only. Norfolk will not be offering delivery at this time, but trust we are working very hard to make this happen as soon as possible. - We will begin deliveries in NFK(within a 10 mile radius of the taproom) of remaining brands start Tuesday 3/24. We will make an announcement day of with more details on how to place a NFK delivery order.⠀

- New brands being announced this evening will be available to-go and for delivery on Tuesday 3/24 in RVA and Wednesday 3/25 in NFK.⠀

Beer Shipping Details

• *The states we can currently ship to are Virginia and also DC. We hope to increase our reach into many other states for shipping in the near future.
• *Merchandise will be available to ship in all states.
• *All orders that include packaged beer must be purchased by persons 21 or older. Shipments will require signature and government issued ID upon delivery.
• *All orders placed on Friday will not be processed until the following Monday to prevent any shipments sitting in warehouses over the weekend.
• *Please allow 2-3 business days for processing on all orders.
• *All orders placed to ship outside of the current listed states will automatically be cancelled and refunded.
