I'm late getting this posted, but if anyone is in or near Fresno tomorrow, 12/20, I strongly recommend going to this. Rush Hour is delicious, and I've only heard good things about the variants from people who've had them so far.

We are pleased to announce the first ever Rush Day at the Tioga-Sequoia Beer Garden (745 Fulton, Fresno, CA 93721) on December 20, 2014 from 11am until 9pm.

Rush Day is the day we celebrate our coffee infused beers. We will be releasing our first barrel aged beer in bottles called Midnight Rush, a blended bourbon barrel aged Imperial Breakfast Stout (Coffee Infused Double Milk Stout). About 1000 bottles will be produced total. We will also be releasing batch three of Rush Hour Breakfast Stout as well as a variant on Rush Hour called Piece of Cake a chocolate milk stout infused with Coffee, Madagascar Vanilla Beans, and Toasted Coconut.

We will have master roaster Leo from Cafe Corazon on site selling coffee from roasted Colombiano Beans used to make batch 3 Rush Hour and Midnight Rush.

Dusty Buns (Food Truck) will be on site the whole morning/afternoon serving a Brunch Menu catered to pairing with Coffee and Beer.

    Bottle Limits

    First 80 People

    4 Bottle Limit on Midnight Rush (500ml $15) – 320 bottles
2 Bottle Limit on Slice of Cake (22oz $8) 160 bottles
6 Bottle Limit on Rush Hour (22oz $7)

    After first 80 People

2 Bottle Limit on Midnight Rush (till gone) 400 bottles
4 Bottle Limit on Rush Hour for the rest of the day.

All beers will be on Tap throughout the day with 1L and 2L Growler fills of Piece of Cake and Rush Hour.

Rush Hour is damn good... Wish I could hit this up tomorrow, I'm sure it'll be worth it.

I went today. Showed up at 11:10ish and the line was already at least 100+. Got the bottles of Rush hour and Midnight Rush. Did not get any Piece of Cake stout bottles but did buy a growler and had them fill it with PoC on draft. Didn't stay long but it looked like a good time.

The only bad thing was the people who showed late and cut in line to be with their friends. I wouldn't have gotten any Piece of Cake bottles but I feel bad for those who just missed out. Cant wait to try the Midnight though.

They did pass out tickets to the first 80 around 10:15, so this wasn't too much of a problem at least for PoC allocations. I didn't see too many people cutting, but it's always going to happen some. It may have been worse behind me, so hopefully it didn't cause people to miss out on Midnight Rush.

I see, I didn't get there for the tickets. At least I got a 2L growler, so that's plenty. I hope they consider brewing more of these variants. It seemed to be a big success. Good for them, now get those barrels filled again maybe with a wee-heavy scotch ale this time!

I went today and they still had a few cases of Midnight Rush. Heard alot of positive stuff about yesterday's event. Was a little surprised about how small the Cake allotment was, but at least they had plenty of the main attraction. Hopefully all these small batch brews work out for them. They do a great job for a brewery that's relatively unknown outside of California.

From their Facebook, Piece of Cake batch 2 is being released today at 4pm. 72 bottles, 1 per person. It will be on draft, but no growlers. They've added more coconut to this batch, which I think should be an improvement - b1 was good, but wasn't that different from Rush Hour, I thought. So if you missed out on b1 or want to try the new one, here's your chance.

I got a growler of Cake and thought for sure that it was mistakenly filled with regular Rush hour. But I love it and dusted a 2L growler in one night anyway. Thanks for the heads up catbird.

I picked up a bottle and had it on draft this afternoon. I can confirm that there's more coconut this time. It's much better than b1, and that seemed to be the consensus from people I talked to and overheard. I'd still like a bit more vanilla, but the coconut is more integral to the German Chocolate Cake flavor they're going for.

I had pretty much the same reaction as you to b1. If I didn't already know there was coconut and vanilla in it, I'm not sure I would have noticed. But Rush Hour is already amazing on it's own, so it wasn't bad by any means, just a bit disappointing.

Ah the old cut in line crap….
That's one of the reasons why KRBC went to the lottery format for their Citra release.

Ever had Rush Hour? T-S may not be an exceptional brewery, but RH is an exceptional beer. Take a stout people already love, barrel-age it, limit it to 720 bottles, throw in a 160 bottle variant, and you have the recipe for lines in the barrel- and rarity-obsessed craft beer world.

Yeah, waited for almost an hour just to get inside and then another 20 min to buy some glasses and fill a growler. Not only is Rush Hour awesome but the two new variants were being releasd as well.

Not too fond of their light beers, but as far as the porters and stouts they are delicious.

There was a time when I thought TS wouldnt ever become an elite brewer. But what I've seen over the last 18 months or so is a constant desire to improve every thing they do so that they don't become stagnant. At this point I feel like TS makes enough awesome brews to be considered a great brewery. And if you go to the beer garden and conversate, the employees are down to earth. No egos
