Like the Top 250 and the Beers of Fame list, any idea where to find a list of top retired beers?

I don't think that is available.

    Correct. We don't have one.

Is it possible to put one together depending on interest?

It'd be easy, and it's been requested before, but we haven't added one as we fail to see the value. Sure, it might be interesting for some users, however, the vast majority of the beers would obviously be unattainable.

Another major factor is that some retired beers are still ratable, so the list would be off unless we changed the ratability of retired beers as a whole.

I, for one, would love to see this list. People trade retired beers all the time. The rankings would be fun.

Who else thinks it would be cool to be able to view top rated lists by style of retired beers? Now that CBS has returned it gives you an idea of how highly a retired beer of 4+ years would still rate today (currently #10 on the all-time list). I vote that the bros create duel lists by style of both current and retired beers!

It would need to have the same rules as the top 250. So that it isn't full of beers with 5 ratings, more like a white whale list

I'd love to see this, too. I'm interested in the top beers of the past (without using the wayback machine), and some of them are still possible to come across. What's one more top list that plenty of people would find interesting and informational?

I've actually been wondering why some one off/retired beers are listed in the top 250 and other retired beers are not. Whats the criteria to stay vs get the boot?

No "retired" beer should be in the top 250. Normally one-offs are retired after a year, but there seems to be some amount of fudge factor in practice. In addition, if someone entered the beer as "rotating" or "seasonal" it won't get retired automatically.

Thanks for the responses. Seems silly not to include retired beers in the top 250. Shouldn't a top beer list include all the top beers, not just the ones that are currently being produced?
