Trade gone bad

There is a MAJOR difference between potential miscommunication, all signs pointed to that here, and no communication whatsoever leading to a botched trade. You know exactly why this scenario is different from yours.

 

Because it is amazing how a public outing/shaming will do in driving accountability of people who are not doing the right things in their trades.

 

There is not really a difference. We did communicate, I just did not log in and grab his phone number like I should have. I'm not saying I was not in the wrong, I am just saying that people should get the benefit of the doubt before they are publically outed.

I cannot agree more which is why I advised him to set an expected resolution end date and stick to that. I see more and more of the "I haven't hear from this guy in a few hours/days...should I be worried" the answer is no. You should be cautious, but give someone a few days. Sometime life (God forbid) gets in the way and people undeservingly have a bunch of people with nothing better to do pointing fingers. Leave all of us out of it and go with your gut. Give an expected end date and stick to it.

Once again, I was just offering my opinion.

 

What was the timeline of events for this? Has this been going on for weeks? when were original boxes sent and when was the final box received (if it ever was)

In regards to the retaliation feedback, BA will not let it happen. If your story is accurate and he leaves you bad feedback, he will probably be banned from the site unless he has good reason.

I agree with IPA... whatever, it is a similar situation of "botched communication" and let's make it a similar situation on the positive side too, and post the bad trader's name here so maybe we can have the same result.

Not saying IPA...whatever wouldn't have responded and made good on his end of the trade. We'll never know. All we do know is that this forum is a last resort for folks, and shaming often works to get people to do the right thing. and IPA...whatever was incommunicado until he got tagged and shamed into action by this sort of thread.

A few days? Screw that. We all have life (the worse non-excuse ever). If you can't get back to someone within 24 hours (should be less, it takes a handful of minutes to send a message) then you have no business trading.
