Would a Coconut Vibes b2 + Mornin’ Delight b5 be good enough for a Tete b1? I cannot gauge what it takes to land Tete b1 (even though I traded for it 2 years ago. That was too far back to really gauge what it takes now).

My thought/guess is it would take another ~MD b5 level beer at least. Not sure how much the Coconut Vibes b2 causes venn diagram issues

I feel like yes some sort of BL should be able to close. Seems it's not as coveted since 3 sons has put out their own beer

Thank you for the confirmation. I did work out a trade for a bottle of Schramms Mead.

Yeah, I figured it might take more. That's just a bit too much for what I'm willing to give up.

Welcome to BA! I think Oude de Ble would be right around 1:1 with a bunch of Bottle Logic stouts: FO, DSN, REN, JTR (although maybe you'd need a small plus for that one?).

You might want to check out this thread for some other stouts worth seeking out that aren't super hard to trade for: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/good-stouts-to-try-to-trade-for.592674/

I've done a similar trade to this (gave up Silver + Black Wax) and have seen 2 BM for Maman close 2:1 a couple other times as well, so it'd say it's pretty fair.

So I just got turned on to this thread which I can't believe I never knew was here - I've done a lot of trading but one area of naivety I've got is trading value for Cantillons - I've got a 2017 Fou Foune and would like to trade it for another Cantillon of similar trade value and was thinking offering it for an LPK, LPG, etc. but was hesitant in putting it out there until I could bone up a bit. Can anyone give me any guidance on a) what other Cantillon I might ask for and / or b) where I can find this type of trading resource. Thus far I've done some googling but haven't really found any really definitive resource, and some of what I've found on BA is quite dated. Thanks!

LPF is closer but I think FF would still probably require a plus. LPK is probably (at least?) at 2x Fou Foune.

I think the closest 1:1 would be any of the other seasonals (St. Lam, Vig, etc).

I agree that a plus would be needed on an LPF. And to give you an idea on what I did to land my LPKs. I traded a BAA '18 for LPK '11 and a BAA'18 for an LPK '15. Couple notes about this, I do realize that I am one data point and not necessarily the trend. And both trades were part of larger lambic trades so not necessarily 1:1, but the BAA was what helped me start the conversation.

Just the advice I was looking for, thanks, and one reason why I didn't want to post it without checking around - I also looked in Completed Trades too but there aren't a lot of Cantillon for Cantillon trades.

Does FOb2 hold any much more trade value over b4? Don’t see too many trades involving b2. What would it take to land a b2?

FOb2 certainly holds more than FOb4, but the trade appeal/value has gone down for FOb2 since the FOb4 release.

Having said that, if you’re looking to tick FOb2 that’s fine... but FOb3 is where it’s at.

Agreed with all this. FOb2 is actually pretty similar to FOb4, but trades for ~2x the value. FOb3 is far superior to both IMO

Can a BG&E land me a Damon? If not what would be a good plus?

Dan, I don't dabble in secondary, etc., but if dealing with a reasonable trader, maybe someone that missed BG&E, but had a Damon, I could see this being 1:1. If not, then a small plus on the BG&E side. Damon was more expensive (28v22) and had a lower bottle limit per person at release (3v4). Things I'd be okay with overlooking if I had missed out on BG&E, but had a Damon. Good luck.

So 3F Hommage, Armand and Gaston and Oude Gueze recently hit distro in Boston / Maine which is a second time for the latter two in less than a year which I'm suspecting lowers the trade value for all. I saw in Completed Trades the last time that a 750 A & G was traded for a Duck Duck Gooze, and I'm suspecting, at that time the A & G would hold similar value in getting similarly rarish beer like Cable Car and others - comparable Belgians but I'm not sure which ones. Given the increased distro, I'm not sure if the A & G would still hold it's value. Agree, disagree? Thoughts? Comparable Cantillons or other for an A & G and / or an Hommage? Thanks and cheers!

If you find someone with a Damon that has actually drank one I would say yes. I have actually tried both, and would strongly suggest you just drink the BG&E. You can thank me later.

For both of you gents being outside CA you definitely know your BL batches well. Fob3 is a marshmallow dream right now. Fob2 while pleasant never had anything that popped but it certainly has a slight edge over 4

There is an absurd amount of 3F A&G and Oude Gueze on shelves here in socal, have been getting shipments fairly regularly now over the last 1-2 years. Hommage & Golden have seen the least amount of distribution, but i've even seen them sitting at stores for a week or 2.
