seems like a legit place to trade good stuff. I am in NYC and while I have access to some super dope beers I'm always looking for more! Particularly beer that I can not get in the area like heady topper, Lawson's finest, Hill Farm, and any special releases from swamphead and cigar city and the list goes on and on. Anyway anyone interested in trying some good stuff native to NYC and philly area let me know. Cheers!..
I would start here http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/beer-trading-rules-tips.229/ So you can get some more super dope beers.
Welcome to BA. Lotta great beers in NYC, I guess you must have tried them all, and now want to try what the rest of the country has to offer? Trading is a great way to do that.
This can't possibly go wrong.... Welcome to BA. Take some time to learn the trading forums. Read through trade posts and the threads on Beer Trading Help to get a sense of what things trade for, how to put together an appropriate offer, etc. The more you educate yourself, the better things will go. Good luck!
As I've told others, start with a basic locals for locals trade. Post an ISO: Your Locals FT: My locals. Once you get in to discussion with somebody let each other know preferred styles and set a $ limit. And keep in mind the beers you mentioned having interest in aren't the easiest to land (for the most part) Do some research
Most of the beers you're looking for are on the mildly to medium difficult level to get, typically requiring you to trade away limited beers (those that don't stay on shelf too long or brewery-only releases). Stuff that you can just go grab off the shelf in NYC or Philly any time will unlikely get any attention (unless you can get to Tired Hands easily and willing to trade growlers). My suggestion is to update your "Gots/FT" list (Beer > serach for beer you have > click "Got") or think of which beers you have that are not "shelf", post an ISO/FT (go through the listings on there to see how they are typically written), and hope you get a response from an experienced trader who can help you through the trade process. If you don't have limited beers to trade, check out the US - Mid-Atlantic forum, keep an eye on threads related to special/limited releases in your area and start acquiring them for drinking AND trading. Other than that, check out the in the work FAQs which should answer most of your questions about trading: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/wanted-beer-trading-faq-input.236846/ Good luck!
