Sounds like me. With the exception of the yearly releases of stuff like Sexual Chocolate, Event Horizon, Lindley Park.. i've went back and bought more Wicked Weed bottles i've had to drink again, but for the most part, its always something new

Ok, my 2 cents worth. I am on a mission to try as many different beers as possible, and what my wallet will allow. While I have not had many of the greats(according to BA), I have had almost 600 different beers. It has been a journey that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I sometimes buy some beers that I have had before, only because I really like them, but most of bber store trips are to get a mix-a-six of some new ones. Like I said before, I have yet to have many of the best beers out there, I haver had some that I will always remember(FFF Zombie Dust & Gumballhead, Hoppyum, Hoptimum, Most Stone products and many many more. It's all up to what people prefer, and my preference is to try as much as I can of whats out there and occasionally revisit the favorites....

I averaged around 1.5 beers per day. I typically drank 1 beer per night Monday - Thursday and 2 on Friday - Sunday to get near 500 for the year. I thought that allowed me to enjoy each beer. Rated 330/500 as time allowed - vacation to Iowa allowed me to sample a host of beers, but activities around the Family Reunion did not allow for timely rating, same can be said for business trips. I found mixed six packs at a local package store worked well for ticking, along with bombers shared with friends. I think I dumped 8 beers after finishing 6 oz., less than 2% - which - given the blind samplings - was not too bad. Do not like to choke something down if I am not enjoying it.

I tend to mix sixes of 3 beers or grab a reliable go to beer (ex sea hag). I don't drink a ton and only really drink on the weekends, so I prefer to try new stuff most of the time with what little beer I do get.

I don't really have the inclination to try new beers by buying 6pks. While the logic of needing 3-4 trys to evaluate a beer seems solid, the reality is that my basement fridge is full of 4-5 beers from 6pks where I really didn't like the first experience. But BA has really helped me refine my choices over the past year, relative to previous years.

The mixed-sixer concept is a godsend, but hardly any shops around SW CT do it. I would have thought allowing more trial would be beneficial to overall sales, but maybe that's a mistaken notion.

I tend to do the same thing. I've been pretty disappointed when I try the mix six format. Maybe it is just the place I see them but most of the beers offered are on the age limit or past it when it comes to the age of the beer. I've probably had some good beers that I will never try again because of my experience of the beer in the mix six format. As Patbrown2 pointed out you may wind up with some unwanted brews when you go the six pack route, I still think it is worth the cost. There are some beers that I like or dislike on first trying it and later reverse my opinion with the record or third. And, I can usually finish the six even if I've decided I won't buy it again. For this I won't even finish there is always cooking with beer or letting a guest try it to see if they like it or simply offering it to anyone who wants to try it.

I very rarely buy sixers anymore, I get a lot of singles and bomber from Total Wine, plus all of the stuff that I've been buying on line, and the beers that I've been cellaring for 2 years are now finding their way into the rotation...short story long, at least 3 new beers per week

Same! I love trying new beers, but I'll always have Jai Alai (although Resin is putting in a strong running for fave IPA) and one of the darker Sam Smith ales in the house.

I also tend to only buy beers I've yet to try (my wants list is too long not to, if I ever plan on making a dent in it). I feel as if I'd be missing out on awesome new experiences otherwise. That being said, I like to have a few old standbys of some of my favorite styles in the fridge also (Big Eye or Flower Power for IPA's, and usually a few Edmund Fitzgeralds). These come in handy when I just want a drink that I know I will enjoy without a doubt.

Sammy Smith's Imperial stout is one of mine too. Mmmmm. I'll be on the Taddy Porter tonight.

I usually will drink from a 6 pack during the week (if I'm having a beer on weeknights) and save my ticking for the weekends or vacation. But I usually do always try to and drink new beers on the weekends, even if its only 1

With TW down here in FL, I'm heavy into the pick a mix six so I can go all over the map. If I find something really good I'll pick up a full six or a bomber (especially with DFH products). At festivals I also try to mix it up, but at those you run the chance of catching something spectacular and getting back in line multiple times. That happened to me last year at the Jupiter (FL) Craft Brewer's Festival. I starting trying brews and then stuck with the stouts and porters. Founders brought a coffee bean infused rum barreled porter that I must have sampled 4 or 5 times. That'll probably happen again at JCBF 2015 next month. Yowza!

When I was into trading, I believe I went a year or so with 2-4 different brew's a day.

    Cheers!
