Two of the last three coffee beers I've had (Calm Before the Storm and Son of a Baptist) have had flavors and aromas that were very vegetal in nature (my first thought on both was green bell peppers). These weren't the first two coffee beers I've had where I picked up on a green pepper character right away. Is that just a me thing? I'm wondering what makes a coffee beer taste more like peppers than coffee, but I also don't know if this perception is in my head and I have an undeveloped palate.
