I posted this one yesterday, but then I got a crazy idea and decided to run with it…
Yummy breakfast; just trilling.
I don't know if America is in as much darkness as some people say, but I certainly can use some darkness in my beer glass.
affordable & classic.
Good morning BAs! An extremely wet morning here in NW PA - I literally just got back into the house after picking up the morning paper when the deluge began.
Today's new drain cleaner:
A really nasty coffee milk stout - tastes like they used real milk which then soured. Much as I love coffee stouts, this one has a date with my drainage system.
Thanks @DrSchnitzengiggle, your help is greatly appreciated!
Yesterday's breakfast beer which I was unable to upload:
Nice little Friday off and finishing this delicious BA Stout.
Up and at 'em, it's coffee:
As refreshing as the name . . .
Appearance: Light gold, beautiful white cap and lacing.
Aroma: Clear, clean, sparkling hops with sweet malt following.
Taste: Complex melding of citrusy, floral hops with mildly sweet malt. With this hop profile the malt could be lost in less capable hands. Here both stand out while maintaining the hop forward flavor one expects from current IPAs. Hard to pull off such a high wire act but Sweetwater does it with panache.
Overall: High class IPA for the masses. Mouthwatering flavor combined with ready availability.
Had this for the first time yesterday. Liked it and, though I've never had Dayman, interested to know how it would've compared--think I would've enjoyed a coffee san chocolate iteration more.
I really miss that beer since moving to Arkansas. It was my "go to" summer beer
I made the trip to Green Bench specifically because of this beer. I don't know if it will take the FL ipa throne from Jai Alai anytime soon, but it is definitely a threat. A lot more bitterness, and a pungent nose. Still plenty of peach, orange, and papaya to give it a juciy tropical flavor. This one was canned 7/13.
I checked, and it is indeed Horns Up Friday
Mosaic Dry-Hopped PseudoSue from Toppling Goliath.
My last Cloudwater: IPA Citra
Hope they brew it again next year. Fruity Vermont yeast, citra hops and a crisp, sweet malty backbone!
Val-Dieu Brown - from Aubel, Belgium. 8% ABV.
Starting with a Ocelot puff glass full of:
Nice to see you back!
Good Morning BAs and happy Friday!
Enjoying a Tangerine Hop Nosh from Uinta. It's okay. Not really a fan of these IPAs where it feels like they add fruit juice to the original. For example I enjoy and like Sculpin but I have a hard time with Grapefruit Sculpin. I enjoy original Hop Nosh, Tangerine Hop Nosh not as much. To each their own I suppose. The latest tangerine craze in IPAs reminded me of a Flamming Lips song tho.
I know a girl who reminds me of Cher
She's always changing
The color of her hair
She don't use nothing
That ya buy at the store
She likes her hair to be real orange
She uses tangerines
Enjoy the Weekend BAs
Just sipping on my first one of the day, and it's a new one (sub-seasonal?) from August Schell - Fort Road Helles:
A very light and super-easy drinking pale lager. Imported Bavarian malt? Ja!
We'll get a review in here before long...
After work at Midnight will polish off my last can of Firestone Walker Union Jack that I found shoved to the back of the Fridge was canned in late March so know some of the hop profile will be subdued and follow it up with a Deschutes Inversion IPA . Saturday will be an Double/Imperial IPA kind of day Firestone Walker Double Jack with a Ballast Point Dorado chaser which should give any Hop Head their fix. Cheers .
Another big day today BA's, and a special one at that. Friday! It's hot pretty much everywhere, and that is only making us thirstier. Beer is flying out of the cooler, and glasses off the shelves. Let's check in on the Glass of the Day Awards!
GotD: I am so glad to see someone using one of my personal all time favorite glasses. @RonaldTheriot , welcome back to the winners circle with that majestic Aventinus glass. Prost and congrats!
2nd: For the second day in a row, we are almost sticking to a theme. In this case, German. @MUTINY broke in a lot of new glassware lately, but I am a sucker for steins (glass or ceramic), and this one reminds me of a personal mug my family and I battle on...Turkey Mug, or Pheasant Cup. You be the judge.
3rd: We've all seen some beaker glasses, but @jzeilinger 's is a tower, and filled with a Pilsner...it fits the bill .
SPECIAL (PGA) AWARD!!!: It gives me great pleasure to acknowledge the truly valiant efforts, despite a 5:30 AM flight, of @goingbrokeonbeer for completing 5 beers with matching glassware in one day (*used pic with 3 of 5 shown)! Truly inspiring! Double Cheers good Sir!
Honorable mentions go out to @puboflyons for another German Lowenbrau masterpiece (unfortunately been awarded to someone else previously), and to @smakawhat for taking note of my love for Thistle's.
Cheers everyone, and I will see you all soon!
A Gulpener Korenwolf witbier.
Having another Ocelot puff glass filled with:
It's an honor to be back in the winner's circle!
...man, I just knew @RonaldTheriot was gonna take 1st place
Mornin' BA's! Coming up on noon here in sunny NOVA & I'm starting with this:
Omnipollo Aurora. First time with this one & hopefully not the last - it's very elegant & well-crafted :-)
Tunes - inspired by @dikebrewery :
As always- Drink up & drink on, my fellow advocates!
Hello lovelies. Today is another muggy one in eastern Nebraska though not as bad as yesterday. Sold a drum kit last night so I got some spending money, but I may just throw it towards bills.
Got the lawn mowed today, doing housework, and finishing up this 26 oz bad boy STRAIGHT from the bottle :
For the first time ever Great Lakes Dortmonder Gold on tap. If fact these is the first Great Lakes beer I have ever had on tap. Great Stuff
1st Birthday Beer of the day today. This beer is wild. I've passed it over time and time again but pulled the trigger yesterday and glad I did.
This is straight up liquid Starburst. Like a handful of pink ones with a bit of mango.
One of my favorites.
Happy birthday! Go big, or go home right out the gate! I like your style. Cheers!
Jolly Pumpkin Fuego del Otono
