    Newborn sleeps through the night...but the dog freaks out because rain. Couple cups of coffee and moving onto a new twist of an old friend. Actually went in search of Hop Stalker (grabbed it too) and bumped into a case of this guy; couldn't resist. Still raining so might just drink a bunch of these today.

    Ugh! The dreaded double-opening of this thread. Oh well, I assume they will get merged at some point, hopefully this post survives (note, while typing this up, look like the situation was resolved - whew)!! Because......

    Today is the long awaited (well, it appears to be 64 days) sequel to Throwback Thursday: it's Flashback Friday!!!!

    If you didn't participate last time, and wonder what it's all about, welcome, and I linked the last thread above. Basically this theme is an attempt to get all BAs out of running after the new beer and take a second to reflect on a beer you haven't had in a while. Sure, the new stuff coming out can be great, but those beers you've shoved out of your budget for them were good, too, at one point - no?!?

    Well, today is the day to find out! Go get one of those beers you haven't had in a while and try it again. Then, don't keep it a secret - let us know about it.

    Why did you choose to neglect that beer? Why did you choose to drink it now? Was it a good decision or bad? Change your rating or actually add one? Are you going to not make the mistake of overlooking it in the stores any longer?

    No need to go into grand detail, if you don't wish - but it would be more fun to hear a nice story from you. Either way, I hope you join in and have a little fun with a beer from your past!!

    To @2beerdogs - your post in yesterday's thread was officially past midnight east coast time, so I guess from my point of view, you hit Flashback Friday :wink:.

    To @JakeScully - nice opener to the theme. How long has it been - and is it something we might see a little more often early mornings on the other side of the Atlantic? (Forgive me for not immediately replying to any response... I am out the door because much like Thursdays, I have to work on Fridays, and I want to catch up with you early morning imbibers of revisited brews as early as possible this afternoon).

    Sorry if I messed things up; vaguely recall this being advertised a few WBAYDN's back, but, in my tired stupor, must've forgot. If I'd remembered, I would've waited to post. Apologies.

    In keeping the theme and to make amends, I did revisit this guy--my absence from it due only to availability. Do prefer the cans from two years ago, but it still a safe bet. Love the wet hops.

    i planned to play today but funny thing was i figured i'd call it "Flashback" Friday, i see the title was amended to exactly that. who knows maybe i'll start being able to stay home Wednesdays too & will have to take it to "Way Back Wednesdays".:grimacing:

    TGIF. as for the beer. it's been a minute since i last cracked one of these. doubt it's been a full year but i really don't keep track like that. probably not the best "theme" beer as i'm not really that organized, no rhyme nor reason. i had a few things sitting in the garagerator with some time on em' & just sort of played eeenie meenie minee mo between those few options. this is what i came back in the house with & jazzed up.

    p.s. (in my guiltless, shifting blame voice), i broke my routine & skipped the treadmill this A.M. in order to play. it's all cjgiant's fault.:astonished:

    Sort of a flashback beer, but I still have Delirium every now and then, I used to drink this one a lot at the brasserie or pubs with friends, during college years. This was once called 'la meilleure bière du monde' (The best beer in the world) which seemed a tad over the top, but it still is a great Strong Pale Ale. Not as rich as say, Duvel, but this should be a good one to kick of the weekend, after OSH this noon.
