I have spinach and peanuts so let's make an appetizer called Spinach with Peanuts. ( that's Chinese cooking joke #12) You have to deep fry the peanuts and the dressing uses black vinegar. This dish pairs with Great Lakes Dotmunder Export Lager!

Now I have roasted not raw peanuts so this dish might fail. I'll be back in sharing your pairing if it's not a fail. Have a nice day please.

 

It's time to slow things down on the patio this morning after another busy weekend. Waiting for three months of good weather around here means you take advantage of it when it finally arrives! I'm gasping at the fact that we're down to the final days of June and Independence Day is already next week. A sunny, breezy and unseasonably cool day here that's more reminiscent of early September, but makes for comfortable time outdoors. Cheers to another week of summer!

The darkest pale I've ever seen lol. Info says English pale ale. I can see that but cascade and centennial heavily dosed. Similar to Dale's pale but this is sharper, more astringent orange. Burnt toast, caramel toffee malts. It's very old school.

Excited about beer again. NJ has been getting great things in distro fresher. Especially in cans.

Germany proofs sports an beer can go very well together. When enjoyed responsibly of course.

Medium gold color with white cap and lacing.

Moderate aroma of Noble hops with underlying clean grain. Nice floral hit with some sweetness as well.

Tastes are simple and slightly rough. Elements of hops and sweet grain are present but there are some unrefined bitter edges that while slight are enough to mar the taste experience.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

It has the elements of a European Lager and follows them fairly well. The perceptible flavors are fairly pleasant but the rough edges throw this on off it's game.

One less Astronaut in the fridge as the clouds roll in and drop the mercury to October levels. The month of June has been a meteorological roller coaster as far as temperatures go. This beer has to be one of Half Acres best and one I'd love to see them brew regularly. Time to ponder what to fix for a light lunch?
