    Packing and repacking for our trip today. Mrs. Z has been up cleaning all morning, and is now napping. Coffee time!



    Vintage 2015 and drinking decadently! Amazing bourbon and chocolate cake nose, with oak and cherries as it warms. Medium body with dry, but not wooden tongue coating. Bourbon, luscious chocolate, dark fruits layered underneath - figs, raisins, and cherries. A top tier Stout that ages wonderfully. Thanks @Number1Framer !

    First time checking out Stone's Ghost Hammer IPA, featuring Loral hops...

    Paired with scallion pancakes* and a li'l bit of whipped cream cheese with chives...

    About that Ghost Hammer...

    From the Stone Mixed 12 Box... Overall impressions were fruity and herbal, some lemony citrus notes, mild sweetness, mild bitterness... Smooth and light, faint tingle of carbonation and something distantly peppery...

    Bottle has 2 months on it already, so I'd imagine this is even more enjoyable fresher...

    Hammers of all types appropriate on Thor's Day...

    It's a very nice Oktoberfest from a local brewery I really like, but at $10 a four pack it may be a one time purchase.

    Flavor is full on malt with depth and richness. This is full flavored and it's good flavor. I get little hop presence on entry, mid palate, or in the finish which is clean and short. Hops are there but too shy to give more than a glimpse of their presence. There is a residual darker malt sweetness (molasses?) in the aftertaste that doesn't linger very long.
