An English Bitter for a change. Nice enough, a little bland, but good balance.

SN pale ale followed by a Goose island IPA and finnaly a old Rasputin regular batch. It's good when friends stop buying!

Chocolate? I guess so… Dynamite? Not really. Just okay. For some reason, the clear bottle makes me think of Yoo-hoo.

Good morning BA, have a great Thursday! Got a bit of a snow day over here, but I will still be working from home anyways.

Excellent IPA. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, toasted bread, light caramel malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hops earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resin/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing bitter resin/rind dryness; very slight hop astringency, but not even an issue. Very vibrant and dank hops that feel pretty earthy, green, and fresh; nice bready malt backing, with no residual sweetness. Love Amarillo, a classic and delicious variety. Apparently this has a bit of Mandarina and Citra mixed in at lower levels. Very easy drinking, though fairly aggressive and drying. Love all of the Hero IPAs, glad we get Revolution now. Looking forward to the new 12 pack cans with Denali, Galaxy, and Northwestern Hero.

Amazing wheatwine as always. 2016 batch. Flavors of big caramel, molasses, brown sugar, toffee, raisin, fig, date, apricot, apple, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, nuts, and bread. Balancing bourbon/oak tannin spiciness against sweetness on the finish. Medium-full bodied creamy/bready and fairly slick/tannic balanced mouthfeel. Lightly increasing tannin drying. Very smooth sipper, mildly increasing warming 12%. Always love this stuff. Very barrel forward, but not overwhelming or boozy. Underrated brew IMO, one of my favorites! Need to grab the fresh batch to cellar some more.

Was fortunate enough to find a lot this year. Grocery stores seemed to get a lot of it. Last Sunday was doing my usual grocery run, and Meijer just had some cases lying around with no limit, so I grabbed a bunch. This was insane! Enormous flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla, toffee, molasses, bourbon, toasted oak, raisin, plum, fig, cherry, and dates; with lighter notes of leather, tobacco, licorice, coconut, and smoke. Some bourbon/oak tannin spiciness balances the residual sweetness absolutely perfectly on the finish. Zero cloying. Amazing balance between the malt, dark fruit, and bourbon barrel flavors. Full bodied creamy, silky, velvety, rich mouthfeel. Slightly slick, chalky, and tannic. Mildly increasing warmth of 14.7%, zero barrel booze. Super smooth sipper. Definitely need to update my review from 5 years ago. This is just as amazing as I remember from way earlier batches. Never bought anything newer than 2013 actually. Glad I have 6 more. Phenomenal!

    Good morning BA
After six 12+ hour workdays, I am ready for an AM beer! Revisiting an old regular...

Back when I could only name 10-15 craft breweries, Dark Truth, Old Rasputin, Guinness FES & SA Imperial Stout were the only stouts in the rotation. My how things have changed. Enjoying this one now & trusting you are enjoying what's in your glass today!

Just opened my SN winter mixer, and put my Delirium Noel in the fridge for Saturday’s tasting. What is Winter? It’s dry and sunny here in Kansas, nice crisp air but not really cold.

Finished with the Museum of Antiquities, Antikenmuseum Basel und Sammlung Ludwig. A really interesting exhibit on Egyptian pharaoh tombs.

Now at a restaurant next to the Ueli Brewey enjoying the Ueli (Christmas) Festbier on tap:

A bready lightly spice/clove lager. I’m on my second! Cheers from Little Basel!
