Good afternoon, all! So what, exactly, is a "Mexican-style lager?" I think most of the Mexican lagers I've had were Vienna lagers. (I'd check this in my spreadsheet if I wasn't so lazy.) This Boulevard ¡Vamos! is classified as an American Pale Lager. I have to say, this is orders of magnitude better than any APL I've ever had. Flaked corn, along with European Pilsner and Vienna malts, with Hercules and Hallertau Blanc hops. A little sweetness at first, not too much, bready malts, nice bitterness, and a crisp, dry finish. There really isn't anything here not to like. Pairing this with a red quinoa pilaf. I mean, why not?
