Pretty mediocre.

 

Good afternoon/good morning BAs. I went to a going away party/bottle share that grew as the day turned into evening yesterday. A good time was had by all, and many beers were consumed (sadly no posts)... I need some coffee - CW’s BBA Peruvian Morning (2018):



Roast coffee/bittersweet dark chocolate nose/taste. Very little bourbon. Medium lite body, easy drinking. Bitter roast bean finish and linger. I like! Thanks @scream !

I’ve gathered or received in trade recently enough beer to fill a bathtub, but I’ll hold fast and drink themHave a great Monday, I predict there will be beer in today’s forecast!

Production time: 32 months.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields small head with scant lacing. Head dissipates down to a thin ring in a minute over a dark pink body. Nose of raspberries foremost, followed by strawberries and slight cherries. Taste of tart raspberries, strawberries, and cherries; in that order, with the cherries coming forward midway through to a finish of tart cherries. Good feel and overall, a tad unbalanced, but still a tasty offering from Oxbow. Cheers!

 

Back in the WBAIDN saddle, and here we go... had a great trip to the Left Coast, got in a visit with Cellarmaker Brewing, and went to a few local taprooms too. Always nice to find Pliny the Elder easily on tap. Howdy again.

 

I’ve had it before and this year’s version has, based on memory, more coffee and less bourbon. A fine coffee/breakfast beer - CW makes great beer and the BA Brewer’s Reserve Series has not disappointed. Thanks again buddy!

I’ve had my coffee, now for some juice - Charlestowne Fermentory’s DDH Sungazer IPA:



I’m putting new beers in the fridge (and moving around superfluous liquids like milk, juice, teas, etc. ) and here’s a beer from my IP Trade last month in Charleston - Thanks @rmank , this beer has great fresh hop nose and tastes just like Sungazer always does - delicious! Canned 2/6/19 and drinking fine. Cheers y’all!

Appearance of deep Topaz Amber with white cap and good lacing.

Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, some hop spice.

Taste on entry is rich malt, caramel, toffee, much like the nose. Just a dusting of hops.Finish is clean, crisp, and no bitterness, just rich malt.

 

Finishing this off here ba. Torque Wrench, dipa, from Industrial Arts. Decent stuff, but I think I enjoyed regular Wrench a bit more. 3/6/19,

 

Good morning, all! I went to the bottle shop a couple of weeks ago looking for some brett beers. They had several examples from Crooked Stave's St. Bretta series. This is the Valencia Orange. Funky and tart, lots of orange and citrus zest, medium-light body, and an exquisitely dry and slightly astringent finish. The bottle date on this is August 2015, and it's doing just fine, thank you. I'll have to pick up a few more examples of these. Cheers!

 

It’s verging on lunchtime walk the the dogs, and Diego and Ava can see where this day is headed...CW’s “Cassian Sunset (2018)”:



Nuanced chocolate, cinnamon and coffee. Drinks / feels lite for the 11.7%, the booze and barrel notes well disguised. Perhaps my favorite of the Series for a few years now, thanks to @scream for wetting my beak!

 

A few breweries sent some goods to Atlanta for a festival the other week. Saw this still sitting on a shelf today so I grabbed a pack. Was some LIC beers I need to pick up too.

Awesome west coast ipa, piney, bitter, still plenty of juicy citrus on the finish, malt bill is clean not over sweetening the beer. Hops definitely keeping that in check. Gonna finish these quick! Enjoying this one.
