Ottakringer Dunkles, a surprisingly good counterpart to the Munich breweries’ Dunkel lagers to me. Smooth and crisp, with a pinch of sweetness. Definitely aligns more with the refined Munich beers, rather than the more rustic versions that are more roasty or overly sweet. It also proves my theory that Dunkel goes well in all weather, even at over 30 degrees C!

Clear golden color with good white cap and lacing which tracts all the way down the glass..

Aroma of good malt with piney, citrusy hops.

Taste presents a substantial malt body up front toting fresh hops on it's back. The hops have a bit of a piney kick but are mostly citrus and fruit. I get some elements of grapefruit, both pulp and zest, also ripe fruits such as mango and pineapple. Fairly complex and well blended flavors.

    Full body with balancing carbonation.

This is my idea of an IPA, full bodied and substantially hopped.

    Good Stout Morning to Yinz!

School Year (SY) 2018-'19 ended for me yesterday as I walked out of Edward Hand MS for potentially the last time. I was a Building Substitute since 08 April & it is one of the schools for & with which I have an affinity. (At least) my late-Pops went there, as did my paternal aunt & my paternal uncle (the late Rick Chandler, Colby of Ballast Point's Pops). A former HS colleague now teaches there as does a fellow classmate of Pitt's 2002-'03 MAT program as well as the daughter of one of my HS classmates! It CAN be tough at times, but it is one of the schools to which I feel the most affinity. I am still looking for a F/T, non-teaching gig, plus I finally have the green 'n' go for next week's prostate removal surgery to CANteract my prostate CANcer. I breathed a sigh of relief and nostalgia as I walked out yesterday & today is my last shift at Columbia Kettle Works (2nd Gear), having been a plankowner (an employee since it opened). Circumstances dictate that I walk away since there may be a lengthy recuperation.

All of that aside, I awoke & started right in with:

but that may have been overamping, so I throttled back with:

    & then:

    & right NOW:

That's it for now. See yinz tonight!

    Good morning BA
I was really happy to find this one at Jungle Jim's...
In that regard, how in the world did I not know that Brew Kettle bottle dates now. I had a case of White Rajah picked up looking all over for a date and then noticed the yellow stamp on some nearby bottle necks. Great news from a great brewery.

Black Rajah is excellent, as usual, even at 3 months old. Cheers all!

Pint of lager ba. Have to admit since re-visiting a bunch of AAL's, and I plan to keep going, this is so far my least personal favorite. I guess there is a reason for the lime?

Population III by Stigbergets in collaboration with Other Half, 7% ABV NEIPA. Looks like straight up juice in the glass with a bunch of juicy flavours to match. Balanced with hoppy, bitter flavours it makes for a pretty solid NEIPA. Cheers!

School year is over and watching a 3 and 5 year old all day has increased my beer consumption. Good thing the kids love going to the Kids Club at the gym. New Belgium Jucifer at the Friendly Spot. Much better than expected. I could easily drink a few of these.

2 weeks off work because my father died. Spending the last one off "exploring" Crown Point Indiana. Hold my beer while I figure out how to play this record I bought for whatever reason on the turntable I don't know why my father bought but, never used
    [IMG]
No output at all other than built in speakers? WTF? May need to get a real turntable
